If DeSantis becomes President and displays confidence.......Great .

On the other end of the spectrum (in a number of ways) Cadet Bonespurs isn't confident. He's one of if not the most thin skinned occupants of the oval office ever (and Biden is giving him a run for his money on that). This was evident (to those who paid attention) before the election. Writer (and later 25 year editor in chief of Vanity Fair) Graydon Carter, in the 80s, referred to Trump as a 'short-fingered vulgarian'. This upset Trump so much that he sent Carter pictures of himself with his hands circled for more than 25 years after that. Ivana has recalled one of their trips. They went skiing. He skied down a run. He then watched her ski down the same run. She was much more proficient (she had been a competitive skier). He was so upset about this that he went into the lodge and sulked for much of the rest of the day.

His thin skinned-ness should have been evident to potential voters before the 2016 election. If it wasn't, it was evident re the ridiculousness at the very beginning of his term. No confident man would care what the crowd size at his inauguration was compared to his predecessor.

You seem to think that the groundswell of objection to Trump is all about policy, and that people will be triggered by any similar policies coming from DeSantis. That is not the case.

Many people have proper reverence for the office (the Presidency), and think it shouldn't be occupied by Trump because he's as amoral and lacking in character as he is....that such a low quality person shouldn't be President....not because they object to policy.

And there it is folks.....not caring what is best for the country, but rather caring about triggering libs.....in his or her own words: "just to trigger the libs".

One of the ironies of this, of course, is that Trump isn't even conservative.

Maybe they really WILL leave the country when it happens. DeSantis could be VP and Trump could hand it over 2 years in. Then Desantis could run and get 2 terms for 10 years total as president. The DeSantis decade!
In any scenario, an extra 2 years of DeSantis isn't worth Trump ever being President again.

Trump was a nut in Putin's poop, but that didn't bother the cult of personality followers. AOC is the same thing on the left. Once you get into that realm, it's not about policy specifics, but saying a bunch of crap to get people worked up. So Trump didn't have to be conservative, he just had to play one on TV.

Have you looked at him astrologically? He'll never make it, to make it, you need Start Power = Presidential/Dictatorial Leo in the chart.

Greg Abbott has it, and he'll beat out DeSantis handily, but he had better get that power grid in TX fixed first!

DeSantis will be bankrolled by the wealthy Socialist-hating Latino's in the Miami Area. They bankroll any Senator or Governor in that state.

If DeSantis starts gaining nationwide traction you can bet the corporate big media will go after him with all they've got.

You know you are getting old when you stick to OLDER TERMS now OUTDATED. Orange man became outdated when Donald J Trump GOT THE MESSAGE.

That message was -- if you SPRAY TAN with too ORANGE a COLOR.... and then add a ORANGE TINT to your DYED HAIR. Then a INFAMOUS DICTATOR YOU TRIED TO DANCE WITH from N Korea starts using it and it went VIRAL AROUND THE WORLD....

Trump got the message.... YOU ARE A PAINTED MAN MAKING YOURSELF TOO ORANGE. He then had it finally de-ORANGED and STOPPED THE ORANGE TINT TO HIS HAIR.

Much better then with his hair whiter and his skin less FAKE TANNED ORANGEY. So THEN HE LOST THE MONIKER.

Still for a man who RELISHES HIS TO OUR WHITENESS. It amazed me he wanted to darken his skin anyway. FAKE TANS are more out of fashion today also and few are very dark now. Plenty Young Women I knew who got it in past years STOPPED. They let their WHITENESS COME THOUGH.... Fine by me.

I myself for summer... merely tell myself... your going to wear Tank-Tops and shorts..... just lay in the yard enough to take that total PALENESS OFF. That is all I do as a Senior. I NEVER WOULD GET A FAKE TAN.

I applaud Joe Biden for NOT getting a FAKE TAN that I can see. Some make-up probably and that's it.... TO ME IS IS DUMB FOR DONALD TO GET A FAKE TAN.... one that was orange yet and KEEP HIS EYES LIGHT... you clearly see it and was off.

Just KEEP THE RHETORIC AT LEAST ON CURRENT KINDS..... Orange man is waaaaay outdated and has a tie to a gawd awful year we endured in hateful politics and a pandemic where Trump promoted rebelling against restrictions the world was using for his Base and still many refuse the vaccine to this day for Conspiracy Theory Reasons.
