Same here but my son and I run up a special one on Memorial day and Independence day. The flag the Navy gave us when My Dad died. It's a seriously nice heavy embroidered flag. It comes down at taps on each of these days and the other one goes back on the mast. And we do play taps when it comes down. Then we fold it ,properly, and put it back on the mantle underneath his decorations and officers sword.

You're very welcome. I tried to serve, but I have kidney issues that kept me out, but I serve anyway in my own way.

My flag has been up since Memorial Day. Many houses in town have the flag up and some have red, white and blue bunting along their front porches. We're not Repubs trying to show off that we are patriotic. We are just normal Americans doing the usual for the 4th of July. If you call your fellow Americans Communists, you do not understand.

I will not only fly Old Glory. I will put up 10 of them and hug and kiss and molest them as long as anyone is watching. Does that make me more patriotic?
