Interesting.

Based on what one reads here and sees on the media, you'd think that every single Black American was an anti-American radical.

Quote:
An I&I/TIPP poll taken after Team USA hammer thrower Gwen Berry protested “The Star-Spangled Banner” during the Olympic qualifiers ceremony found 79% of the public opposes similar protests. This includes 61% of black Americans and 69% of Hispanic Americans who said it was important “for professional athletes to publicly respect the American flag on the international level.”

Sixty percent said a respectful showing was “very important,” while 16% of those surveyed said they did not think it was important.

The poll found 93% of Republicans and conservatives said athletes’ respect for the anthem was important while abroad. That figure dropped to 72% of Democrats and 60% of liberals who agreed.

Independents and centrists were in between the major parties as 74% and 81%, respectively, said honoring the anthem was important.

The only group without a majority to say professional athletes should honor the flag and anthem were young people. Forty-nine percent agreed, and 39% disagreed, suggesting the protests should be allowed.

The public wants athletes representing the United States at international sporting events like the Olympics to be respectful of the American flag and the national anthem, according to a national poll.

The key here is “representing the United States”. The United States PAID for her. Sent her as a Representative on the International Stage. Nobody forced her to be that Representative.

She is FREE to think or say anything she pleases …. But not on my Dime.

After winning the gold medal at the 2019 Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru, she put her fist in the air during the national anthem. The posture reportedly cost her sponsorship deals.

She had already shown that she was not a fit Representative. — they should never had allowed her to be a US Representative again. It’s NOT about her, it’s about us. We PAID FOR HER.

“ We’ll see,” Berry said July 1. “It just depends on how I’m feeling and what I want to do in that moment.”

There's saying. A drop of tar will spoil a barrel of honey. Verbatim translation, do not put any derogatory meaning into words.
"most black people" have zero presence in media and a selected person has all of it.
Until this turns the other way around, it's idle bandwidth use. Pointless. He, who owns the press, owns people minds.

I think the powers that be are waking up to the fact that the majority does not want to see some buffoon disrespect the country and flag especially on the world stage.

My Facebook feed has been filling up with triumphant moments from past Olympics showing athletes that are proud to be American. These clips are brought to us by NBC that is trying to build a hype for the games to boost ratings.

Despite what we are being told not all Whites are racist white supremacists and not all black people hate America and white people for the sins of some over 150 years ago.

It’s too late for this. The media is trying to play damage control, but it’s already done, millions of people have already checked out of the Olympics and will not watch them under any circumstances.

So the athletes should actually keep protesting, the damage is irreparable at this point.

The only way to repair it is to build up good will over the next 4 years and then maybe, some will start to come back.
