What a great way to force a scenario where landlords lose their property because they can't keep up with the mortgage and property taxes.

Anyone who thinks everything being done isn't an agenda to move towards socialism needs their head examined.

It'll be tied up by legislators until way beyond October so they get what they want even if it's illegal and unconstitutional and suffer no consequences whatsoever

Yes. Trump gave it such authority in the CARES act he signed into law. The question was whether the CDC had exceeded the authority Trump granted to it. The US Supreme Court affirmed that they did not... although it was a sort of wishy-washy ruling that while it upheld the CDC's extension as lawful, in the opinion it explicitly did tell the legislature that they needed to get off their laurels and clean up the crappy work they'd done on the CARES act so it was more clear what authority they intended to grand to the CDC.

/Shrug. CARES act was mostly a Republican bill since Trump was President and the Republicans held a Senate majority. Unanimous in the Senate and close to in House.

How the hell does the cdc have the authority to even do this?

I understand people having trouble paying last year for a few months when everything was closed and unemployment was backed up

And this point the free money has gone out for over a year and you can get a job if you want one

How long do these lunatics want to continue this nonsense?
It's always gonna be the same story-if you kick people out they'll be homeless just let them live for free forever!
