It might be worth that much in today's dollars, but not after you shock the market with that much new supply. Of course, I think the cost of space mining would limit the amount they actually bring back.
It kind of reminds me of how Venezuela has some of the largest reserves of oil, yet the country is poor as dirt these days. Yea, they have all that oil... In the ground, where it's not making anyone any richer or better off.

Good Lord -- how ridiculous! The world doesn't have $10 quintillion dollars to spend on it, although of course the influx of that much gold would drop the price of gold below a penny an ounce.
