You seem to be missing the entire premise of this thread.
I didn't see anywhere in the premise of this thread that stated if someone were to claim it, it then had to be dumped on the market instantly and all at the same time.
All the more reason this should happen. But yeah, it's a pipe dream.
And that is why if they do manage to bring back majority of the metals, the public will never hear about it!! (thats how they can reap the financial benefits and keep the price high)....

Can you show me where it says that?
I've never made that claim so take up your argument with whomever did.
Cost of freight would be enormous. Not worth it....until space travel becomes as common as driving a car.
The biggest cost will be developing AI robots that can land on asteroids, process ore on the spot and send back packets of precious metals to Earth. Once that technology is developed, space mining should become highly profitable.
Goldmine' asteroid in our solar system is full of metals worth 'quadrillions'
A 124 mile-wide space rock is in our solar system and scientists believe it could be worth more than $10,000 quadrillion (£8,072 quadrillion), and NASA is planning to visit it by 2026
Conservatives will be against this because god created man on earth and so it is obvious the almighty doesn't want us to get off the ground. All people who have ever used an airplane for transportation will go to hell.

Huh? What church do you go to where they preach this nonsense?

If there is a way of stopping it and claiming it. I say we should do it.
Stop a large asteroid? Why? It's just fine orbiting the Sun where it is. It would be impossible to stop in any case. Physics - learn it, live it.
