To the person who sent me a message in their rep point saying that hospitals don't make money from Covid patients, I regret to inform you that hospitals make money from all patients. And if the government is paying that patient's bills, for example Medicare, then the hospital is indeed getting paid by the government. In addition, because of the CARES Act, the government was paying a 20% overrride.

And to your comment that other treatments aren't proven, there are ample cases of their effectivity for them to be at least tried. And their cost is relatively low.

In 2020 hospitals typically lost money due to Covid 19. So many elective stuff put off or cancelled. And high costs of moving to Pandemic protocols. Trump with CARES made our hospital whole with about a $2M gift.

A mobile field hospital has a far, far shorter time frame to get up and running than a hospital ship does.

That and how do they transport people from the northern part of the state, ambulances are tied up at this point. A mobile hospital makes more sense.

Below 39 now makes up the largest portion of infected.

Quote:
Residents between the ages of 25 and 39 represent the largest portion of the infected population in the state, with 79,341 cases reported Tuesday, the latest figure available.

Among patients under 18, children between the ages of 11 and 17 have the highest infection rate, with 27,944 cases identified. The 65 and older age group has the highest total number of deaths with 5,734 reported.

Press conference by the Mississippi Health expert as they open a field hospital in the parking garage, “We do not have to be here”. I agree completely.

An excellent job would be taking this pandemic seriously from day one which he did not do. Trump should have advocated for masks instead of mocking them.

OMG

“ University of Mississippi School of Medicine Dean LouAnn Woodward said Wednesday the University of Mississippi Medical Center is treating 127 COVID-19 patients and 26 of them are children, ABC reported. Woodward added that 90 percent of the patients hospitalized due to the virus are not vaccinated.

The Mississippi hospital system will fail within the next five to seven or 10 days if the current trajectory continues,” she said.”

Because their constituents in those states are mouth breathers who would vote them out next election if they acted like informed adults. These governors care more about their political future than the lives of the idiots who vote for them. They know their base is too stupid to realize their policies are killing them, and will line up dutifully and vote for them again. Which they will.

We are in a stupidity pandemic right now, and it's tough to see a way out of it because the stupid is so strong.
