This is why media trust is at an all time low. They're supposed to report the news, not make it up.....

"DeSantis Press Secretary Christina Pushaw slammed the Miami Herald's framing of the latest CDC data.

"It's sensationalistic and dishonest to imply that 901 people died in a day when was actually a culmination of several weeks of data being reported at once," Pushaw told Fox News. "By the same logic the Miami Herald used in its misleading headline, the liberal media could also say ‘New York reported 12,000 deaths in a single day,’ but of course they will not." "

Glad she didn't let them get away with it!

Does it matter how many died?
My state leads the Nation in COVID Infections and Governor DeathSantis doesn't want Masks in schools.

Of course it did. Truth be damned DeSantis must be punished for bucking the "official" narrative

Florida gives one report per day for the # newly reported deaths. Those deaths could have had date of death a mix of yesterday, 2 days ago, 3 days ago, 4 days ago. These are all "new" deaths reported by the state that weren't reported before and won't be reported again. The media reports these newly reported deaths.

The Florida governor likes to play tricks with the data to make it seem like Florida has fewer deaths. For example, if there were only 9 deaths for "date of death" of 7/25 so far , but the # of newly reported deaths for that daily report is 55 new deaths reported (other dates of death in that 55 reported). 9 of them had "date of death", let's say 7/25/21. However, over the next few days another 45 are submitted with "date of death" for 7/25/21. 9 were reported the 1st day, 14 more the next day, etc. But the Gov originally said only 9 deaths for 7/25, but over days more and more death reports increased the # of deaths with date of death 7/25 because they get reported as new deaths on different days over time, in the New Daily Death Report.

It would be too confusing to report each day "we have 6 more for 7/24, 8 more for 7/25, 11 more for 7/26, 17 more for 7/27).....

So the proper way is to report the total #of new deaths reported by Florida each day - one number. These are deaths which are being reported for the first time, regardless of the exact date of death.

There was speculation that Florida was delaying reporting some deaths, for political reasons, to make the numbers appear lower. Eventually they submit them though in the newly reported death report. I think they just delayed a bunch for unknown reasons (FL wont say why, very secretive) and reported a large daily death report for one day. The press reports the new daily deaths as Florida reports them. These deaths were never reported before. They were new deaths reported by Florida which is how it's done.

Biden administration is sending thousands of infected illegals into Florida daily..70% of all the illegals are being bused or flown into Florida from the heavy trafficked area of Del Rio Texas.

The Center for Immigration Studies, a think tank that supports low immigration whose writer was reporting from Del Rio, Texas, said in March that buses departing from Texas “often drop their Haitian, Venezuelan, and Cuban passengers in Florida and New Jersey. Those from Nicaragua and other Central American nations have been delivered to Tennessee, Massachusetts, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and to large cities in Texas such as Dallas and Houston.”
The report was called “Catch and Bus.”

Do any of us believe that any of the data reported 'daily' is really for the 24 hour period...that day. Nope

Good to clarify though.

But just to bring it into perspective Florida is averaging around 240 deaths per day though. for the last 7 day period. WOW......that's lots.

Yes, Virginia. Yes, it does.

Imagine how stupid you'd look if you'd have asked that question about traffic crashes on the freeway. Or how about if you'd asked, "Does it matter if, after I catch the China Bug, I live or die?" Well, does it?

More people will see the fake misleading headline than the retraction so the damage will remain done, its probably a deep state attack on Desantis.

While it's sad that 240 died last week in Florida, other states such as Louisiana, Arkansas, and another (CDC website won't load, so I can't check) are averaging more.

Not to mention, when you look at the average per 100k, Oregon, Washington State, Texas, and quite a few other states (once again, I can't look them up) are doing worse than Florida right now.

It seems to be that Louisiana is the worst state right now, in the country.
