My cousin recently caught covid. He said he was throwing up non-stop for 10 days and also had Pneumonia. He said he went to the hospital and was in the room. They asked him if he was vaccinated... when he said no. The healthcare worker's demeanor completely changed. He said "well i don't have to go through what you are because IM VACCINATED" . When are you people going to learn...
He said he was locked in a room for hours, no blanket, nobody checked on him, and even when his o2 machine went off... Nobody came.....
Literally said it was living hell.
They gave him nothing besides painkillers and something for the Pneumonia.
Sounds like these hospitals are basically refusing care for the un-vaccinated and trying to intentionally kill people. Seems like they are being political at this point.
This is insane.
First, the hospitals are over burdened. So he may have been put in a room and they may have not been able to check on him as frequently. It's happened before COVID and it will happen again with COVID
And maybe he wasn't sick enough to have much more than painkillers and something for the phenumonia.
So this anecdote is an anecdote -- hope he's feeling better.
True. And people are also repeating the misperception that the vaccine doesn't prevent COVID, just reduces symptoms. It prevents a huge number of COVID infections that we would otherwise have and it reduces symptoms and death in the event that someone does get a "breakthrough" case.
Yep.
The hope always was that the breakthrough cases would be few and far between. They are, relatively speaking, but perhaps at a clip a bit higher than folks had in their heads.
We went from that to people saying the vaccines don't work at all and may actually hurt you. The case for vaccines having long term adverse effects is impossible to ascertain at this point in time so that's bunk.
I say all this as someone who didn't get jabbed either.
So I was looking at South Carolina COVID cases. We were in a good place May -- almost no cases. Our surge started again with Delta but -coincidentally -- with the start up of school activities ands school. Those kids are not vaccinated.....

Hospitals are overwhelmed, doctors and nurses are beyond burnt out, and there's not enough resources to go around. And then here comes your cousin, who had the opportunity to reduce his risk but chose not to, instead taking up valuable staff, space, and medical resources. I can't blame the nurses for being frustrated at the waste.
"taking up valuable staff, space and medical resources".. wow.
Perhaps the hospitals, doctors and nurses wouldn't be so overwhelmed if the hospitals hadn't been so quick to fire those who worked there if they didn't get the shot.

Could you please post a link to evidence of hospitals in the overwhelmed states that have fired staff for not being vaccinated.
From what I've read, they have a choice. They can get vaccinated by a certain future date or they can get tested weekly.
At least he had a room. One of the hospitals here is still treating non-critical covid patients (regardless of vax status) in tents in the parking lot because of a lack of space inside where they can properly isolate covid cases.

Do we really “know” that? How can we when only the unvaccinated are automatically tested? Every single person I know you came down with Covid the last two or three weeks has been fully vaccinated, including one who dies and three who were hospitalized.

Hospitals are reporting that 80% to 95% of hospitalized Covid patients are not vaccinated. Over 90% of those who die are not vaccinated.
