No surprise these kinds of things are happening with regularity across the country.
Even if by chance shoplifters are arrested, they'll face nothing but possible fine and then released (catch and release system). A misdemeanor at most depending on amount stolen.
Video of shoplifters stealing thousands of dollars worth of electrical wires from a Lowe’s store in Oregon has angered local residents.
"It was so blatant, that’s what riled me up," Keizer, Oregon, resident Andrew Sullivan, who filmed the incident, told the Keizer Times. "They were just strolling through the parking lot, just riding the carts."
Well... maybe those guys needed the wire to survive?
Maybe they were going to sell it for food?
Maybe they were going to sell it so they could afford to buy books for college?
There is no doubt if these guys are caught that they would have some sob story and the judge would go easy on them.
Maybe we should borrow from our Muslim "friends" that practice Sharia Law and those shoplifters would have a finger cut off. We won't go full hand for a first offense. We are not barbarians but the criminals are.
Strange that they decided to steal electrical wire...yes I know they can redeem the copper for cash (but the amount of wire they stole, would likely net them around $30 at the most), plus they have to strip the wire down to the copper, so in the end, they are not gaining at all.
If they were going to steal from a Lowes, why not go for power tools? LOL
