Because everyone who isn't vaccinated ends up in the hospital with covid?
Sorry, that math doesn't add up. If the math worked that way, you wouldn't need King Joe to force employers or insurers to mandate it.
So then add the costs of monoclonal antibodies, doctor visits, urgent care centers, x rays to rule out pneumonia etc to the equation and the vaccine still saves lots of money.

Then why does King Joe need to issue an edict to force employers to mandate vaccines? Things that make sense do not require force or coercion because people would do it voluntarily.
You said the numbers make sense. Well the employers obviously disagree. If it did they would have done it.
The reasons why some don't want to be vaccinated should be irrelevant. I too think some of the reasons they provided are absurd, but the bottom line is that it is their right to refuse vaccination.
You and I both know that the people who haven't gotten the vaccine just won't get it.
If the purpose of vaccination is to prevent severe cases and or hospitalization, then unvaccinated people should be told good treatments are out there if they end up getting covid.
People who want the vaccine, go get the vaccine. People who don't want the vaccine, well, let them know good treatments are available, so they won't end up in the hospital. Isn't that a better solution?

Many employers already have in the private sector before Joe did anything. I guess you work for the Feds?

I'm in the private sector. Many employers have either walked it back or never even brought it up. I'm vaccinated already, but no employer has any business even asking, especially if hiring for a remote position.
Either way, I'd rather gov't funds be spent on those things you named than some green new deal nonsense that's never going to pay off.

In private sector Joe's plan still doesnt mandate vaccination. Over 100 employee companies can select weekly testing. Under 100 no change.
Some employers pushed vax some didnt.
Currently the vaccine is an important part of our arsenal against covid. More things are being looked at including preventative nasal sprays and oral treatments. In an ideal situation these could be used to prevent severe illness and hospitalization in a cost effective manner
