In this society where people assume others are straight, until told otherwise, LGBT pride is still needed.

Like you ever heard statements like "she would drive any man wild" or "he would drive any woman wild"?

Or if someone ever been asked this question? "have you seen any girls with bikinis around have you?

Which is based on heterosexism

Definition of heterosexism

: discrimination or prejudice against non-heterosexual people based on the belief that heterosexuality is the only normal and natural expression of sexuality

Because pride is still needed in a society that often erases LGBTQI+ people in the world around us.

Plus because of bigots who hate LGBTQI+ people.

And stuff like heterosexism in fact erases LGBT people.

none of those phrases are offensive and if you are secure with yourself and even a little annoyed, just roll your eyes and go on.. you can’t force people to like you, and going full throttle sjw, isn’t going to accomplish it.

95% of the population should never accidentally make an assumption about the other 5%. Sure. Why not.

Where on earth did you get THAT definition? That is not a definition. It is merely some made up BS. Why would anyone even need to feel this way?

If someone is LGBT then that is the way it is. That person gets to live their life and other folks get to respect them for who they are and that's it.

No need to go woke or lib or whatever and make a thing of it. Have some respect for the LGBT for heavens sake and leave them in peace.

Agree with you, and I’m gay. Most people in this world are heterosexual and I think there is a difference between an accidental assumption and the “heterosexism” the OP is talking about.

And here is where this goes sideways. Just because someone is interested in X doesn't mean they discriminate or have prejudice against Y. It also doesn't mean that they think heterosexuality is the only normal and natural expression of sexuality. It simply means, it's the only expression of sexuality that THEY are interested in. Anything else isn't on their radar.

And there's no name for that and nothing wrong with it.

Why do liberals have to think up words for things that aren't problems and proclaim that they are problems? Don't they get enough attention? Nothing real to complain about?

I think most people in this day and age would promptly apologize for making that assumption, and most gay people would correct it without freaking out. I highly doubt Pride events will change that component of human behavior. People make assumptions of one another all the time. It’s not an automatic human rights offense.
