If Taiwan is not defended then we will eventually fight the CCP in the Philippines, Australia and Japan. To avoid war an all out economic cold war must begin NOW. The EU and Russia must be part of that too. Hard times ahead no matter what.

How do you deal with a bully nation who's overtly saying they want to dominate the world?

Well of course! That is what we've been hoping and waiting for.

The US cannot compete with China, so we can only sabotage their advancement by drawing them into war and internal chaos. That is the reason we are more "worried" about China attacking Taiwan than the Taiwanese.

The media is selling this idea, while our forces are in the Pacific trying to provoke an "accidental" exchange. Our economy is built on war. We are due for another big one.

China would have to justify the blockade of Taiwan, and the United States would need to believe it is in our strategic interests to get involved.
It's not our aircraft carriers that China needs to fear, it's our subs. Hard to maintain a naval blockade when your fleet is a coral reef.

That was the story of Japan in the 1980's. China is still going through changes, their biggest foe is themselves.

An attack by the CCP would be unwarranted for both nations. The CCP's goal is domination not destruction. A barren waste land of an island is not the end game.

More than likely.... the CCP would try to destroy Taiwan's will to fight. The CCP would target the elites who have the most to lose... financially. Promises would be made (lies), guarantees provided in writing (worthless), security afforded for the wealthy (not really) and a promise of peaceful transition (see Hong Kong for reference). All done secretly. The Military would likely have the will, but not the political support (mistake).

If the CCP goes the military route and attacks ... it will be a bloodbath for both sides, even if the Taiwanese have to go it alone. The conflict will be two nations with generation 4 and 5 weapons, hyper sonic missiles, high intensity beam weapons, drones, etc. We have never observed this in the annals of war.

The US would likely defend the air space and provide satellite data. No direct attacks on the China mainland from the US. The CCP does not have the means of moving enough men and supplies to attack the island... not to mention the many, many small islands surrounding Taiwan are bristling with defensive weapons, so this is not likely. There will be no D-Day scenario.

The CCP would eventually win through attrition of will... unless Japan, Philippines, India, Australia and the UK join the fray. The EU will probably do nothing along with Russia. The world will probably go into a economic depression.

That's how I see it.

Nope, not our problem. Taiwan has had PLENTY of time to arm themselves and train a military.

Taiwan is well prepared for a defensive operation, not offensive.

The CCP is everyone's problem (economically) now. An economic cold war with them, just like we did with the former Soviet Union, is the right course of action.

That's how to prevent a shooting war, stand up to the bully.

Which is worse, bribes or forming family personal business partnerships while being a sitting POTUS?
