i could just imagine what a up & back down ride the way the Mercury 7 astronauts did would be like. Taking things a bit further, I wonder what it would be like to see the earth as a blue & white little ball from space the way the Apollo astronauts did coming back from the moon. Kinda eliminates all the differences in humanity when you can see our planet from space and realise we're all one people. Well, one species anyway.
Right, because why would anyone waste money on clean water for children in the third world when America's aging Hollywood brats can get a ride on a real spaceship?
This actually made me really happy today. First that Shatner went up at all. Then that he was 90 years old. Shatner looks really good for 90 years old.
Just the remembrance of Star Trek makes me happy that some where someone remembers the idea of Star Trek... that someday humanity would have evolved for bigger and better things.
Very fitting for Bill to go on a space ride. He can now say he has actually been in space, just like Captain Kirk. A part of history now.
Yeah but unlike Captain Kirk, he wasn't able to get the girl on this mission. Granted, he would have had to move fast, but still it was technically possible.
11 minutes in space will hardly be part of history.
Long enough. Better than zero minutes in space.
