34 states are needed, so 19 more states are needed...a longshot for sure.
But wait! In 2021, according to COSA, 25 MORE states are considering passing a resolution!
If 19 of these 25 states decide to pass their resolutions, we will then have 34, & a convention of states is on.
Virginia is needed, and if Younkin wins, that would help.
The Federal gov't has grown in size & power never intended by the founders, & the states are , or 25 wouldn't be considering it this year, & 15 wouldn't have already passed it.
This is not a purely Democrat vs, Republican issue. It's the States versus Federal Government overreach.
If inflation isn't controlled, & the Dollar begins to collapse, the Convention of States will happen.
If the Brandon Aministration, Pelosi, & Shumer rams Trillions of new spending down the throats of moderate Dems, even Blue states could sign on to a Convention of States....like VA.

I've seen the decline up close and personal. The elementary school our daughter attended was a good school when she was there. Long after she finished HS, her elementary school had gotten so bad that it couldn't get accreditation.
To make a blanket statement basically saying all VA schools are great is disingenuous.

Yes schools can change over time for a number of reason but if you look at the links I posted in #89 Virginia is in the top 5 for all areas except the 1 example that your referencing. To make a blanket statement that our schools are in decline is just as "disingenuous".

How can VA be in the top 5 when their NAEP 8th grade Reading results lists only 33% of VA students at the proficient or advanced levels in Reading, the same as the US as a whole? What use is being in the top 5 if that's just the same as our nationwide mediocrity (or slightly below)?

You provided the reference source and the posted results are from the same site, Virginia is in the top 5 for Math, Science and 4th grade reading. Yes reading is down slightly but if you spend time with 8th graders you would see the trends in reading, writing and communicating in general. They live on their phones and social media, and even reading is done more online than in the printed word.
Why is not being in the top 5 a reason to throw any other high scores out? 13 performed slightly higher in 8th grade reading, 27 are similar and 11 performed lower maybe what I said about Cell Phones applies nation wide...
