Correct Artisan!!!!! It's always about the new solution!!!!!! However the "solution" is always 100x worse than the original way of life. We'll find this out the hard way. The oligarchs spend billions of dollars systematically developing blind trust in the gullible sheepsters which leads to large degrees of myopia. It just doesn't take much effort to see this in America right now.
Half of the country so preoccupied with this cause or that cause not realizing all the division created on the backend. Oligarchs might as well be going door to door and giving folks horse blinders.

There hasn't been a pattern in decades so get a grip! History is history so stop living in it as it doesn't apply to today. As I said, the objection is mostly about illegal immigration and rightly so!
With regards to illegal immagrents; Biden's not the only guilty party, There's also Oblabla, Bush 1 & 2, Clinton, Regan, Carter, Johnson, Kennedy and thats as far as I can remember the subject of immigration being used as a political football.
The objection is to illegal immigration not legal immigration today so why bring up the past? Legal immigration though has to be in the numbers that we actually need and that will benefit our society as a whole . . . .

What you can't have is open immigration and a social welfare state.
It seems that normally we agree but on term limits we part company. The President is the most obvious situation. He loses the ability to discipline or threaten when he can't be re-elected. Perhaps a variation might be appropriate such as limiting the number of consecutive terms, so that a person could, say, serve two terms as President or Senator, then have to take a term off, then be above to return. With the partial exception of Reagan's and Clinton's second terms, they tend to be disasters. And even Reagan's and Clinton's second terms had some serious negatives.
The downside to your thought experiment is that throughout my many offices, from president to senator to Secretary of State as examples, I will make all kinds of political networking to enrich myself in many ways. I will also know whose skeletons in whose closets and which bodies buried in whose backyards that I will be able to blackmail my way to more riches.
