FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Florida’s coronavirus infections continue to decline, with the state reaching eight consecutive weeks with fewer new cases than the week prior.
The state health department on Friday reported 15,314 new cases from Oct. 15-21 — the fewest in a week since mid-June.
It amounts to fewer than 2,200 new infections per day, far below the 21,000+ new cases per day that were reported during the peak of the summer surge in August.
Florida’s new-case positivity rate has lowered to 3.4% for the past week, the ninth straight week that metric has declined.
All accomplished without useless cloth masks, vaccine passports, yo-yoing lockdowns. Meanwhile Florida led the nation in job creation with 84K new jobs out of @195K nationwide last month, three times better than the national average.
On the other hand, Florida is ranked 3 out of 50 states for total deaths (58,608, with the weekly death count due today, if it hasn't been released yet).
Anyway, it is good that Florida, like many states, have seen a decline in daily cases.
But, really, the death and sick numbers could have been much better if only said Governor had implemented some common sense precautions secondary to a world wide pandemic.

Florida is not 3rd, but keep up with the misinformation.
Life is not solely about COVID. Our quality of life has been fantastic compared to the deep blue dumps. Besides which, just wait...the numbers in the north are coming this winter.

Glad to hear it. Apparently, 59 percent of Floridians are now vaccinated and 68 percent have had at least one dose. Perhaps people are now taking COVID more seriously there.

My info about Florida is from a doctor and from her perspective, things haven’t been all that fantastic. But less cases now means that things will be less stressful, at least for a bit.

Well done, Governor DeSantis.
Wrong. We did vax - many still mask and so many died. There’s nothing to cheer about. I’m grateful it’s better - but I don’t think we should let our guard down one bit.

Actually Florida is tied for 8th.
If I didn't know better, I would guess Florida has a high average age making them more susceptible.
If you accept Biden shipping Covid infected illegal immigrants all over the country, you lose the right to legitimately complain about what DeSantis has done.
