So what's going to happen to prices at retail stores if the cost of transportation increases dramatically?

Gas taxes, and for the millionth time, those revenues are dropping as ICE vehicles continue to get better mpg, and electric vehicles don't pay any gas taxes

No. The bill says only 15% of money allocated to states can be used for non Federal Highway road projects.

We don't. Take a trip on US interstates and tell me otherwise.

The proposed tax is for electric vehicles, so 18 wheelers (of which I am a driver of) wouldn't pay it until they go electric, which realistically is probably 20 to 30 years away

and now (with this "pilot program study" ) you will pay ALOT more...so not only the fuel tax...but an added mileage tax...this will kill owner operators (most which are middleclass)…..

everything the liberals do hurts the middleclass the most

As technology improves in ways that make laws easier to enforce there is less of a need for those laws to be reasonable. You no longer have to buy in to it. They pass the law and whether you buy in to it or not they use technology to enforce it. Add "fortified" elections in to the mix and you can see why the government starts to figure they can just do whatever the hell they want regardless of people's opinions on it.
