I'm going to venture that GD will reply that schools are subsidized by others and that he managed to "beat the system" by avoiding taxation and still gets a free service.

Yeah, there is no benefit to a household without children in a given community for the children of others in that community to be in school. hahahaha, love that thinking!
Hence my mafia analogy. "Fair" is what the state, which has a monopoly over legitimate use of force, determines it is.
