we should do nothing and let things get worse in the cities. These corporations have been supporting the democrat party and deserve whatever happens to them.
You will NEVER find authentic LV goods at a reseller. They can only be purchased at their boutiques. You will NEVER see them "on sale" either.
This recent smash and grab was done by organized career thieves. They will be selling these authenic goods, if they aren't already sold. They weren't end users.

What you just did however was excuse criminality.
I'm not excusing anything. I'm saying, it's still profitable to run their stores, because of the enormous mark-up. If they have a percentage of legit sales, and a lot of theft, they can still justify staying open.
Coincidentally, about a week ago I was talking to a friend who spends a lot of time in California, and she said the brand is losing a LOT of it's street reputation, because if you see someone carrying one of their products it's likely it was stolen. Marks the carrier as a likely shoplifter.
I agree. In highly red state Oklahoma, the shoplifting limit before it becomes a felony was raised to $1000, but I never see anybody on here complaining about it.
People buy their purses in WalMart in Oklahoma. The whole state is low budget.
People that post "facts" without links should just be ignored.
I agree but it was in the OP. These sorts of crimes are a big concern. Even near me there is a chain in OKC that just lets shoplifters go. Its more for safety reasons for their staff. They call the police but the perps are usually long gone by then. So the word is out that crime does pay in that situation.
I'm reposting this from the Nordstrom robbery thread.
Consumers should reject these overpriced high profile brands and look to purchasing quality products from smaller low profile companies.
They pass these losses on to the consumer, so we pay for this criminal behavior while the criminal and the company profit. That stupid bag or sunglasses with the logo is not worth selling your soul.
I tried to google Louis Vuitton cost vs. purchase price, and couldn't find it. It CERTAINLY seems like they have at least 500% mark up. There is no reason to charge the price they do for comparable leather goods, that you can source elsewhere for very little cost.
So maybe the management at Louis Vuitton figures, sit there and watch the merchandise leave the room by theft, if you get a few paying customers here and there, you'll still make an outrageous profit?
Who ultimately pays the price when these thefts go unprosecuted and unpunished?
