I thought that the Republican Party was all about local control?
Not local control… just control, period.

It's not going to be "equality for all" if all the streets get named after Black people.

Okay then. Tell me this. What do you want to see happen? I have to ask because I wasn't even thinking about whether or not said streets would get renamed for Black people.

Lets face it, Republicans have a much higher degree of respect for history, facts, rationality and science than do Democrats. Today's flag waving Democrats are waving the flag of Communism.

It says there is a state law protecting state designated "confederate landmarks" that got state money.

Seems kind of cut and dry unless the law gets changed.

There is a park near me that is less than a decade old. They city bought private land with the assistance of both federal and state money. Both the federal and state governments required that the land remain as park land under penalty if violated since they chipped in $ for it too.

But is a road name a state funded designated landmark in the courts eyes?

Erecting Confederate statues is not a respect for history. It is a slap in the face. Explain to me why I would want ANY street in America to be named for a Confederate general. Why would I want ANY Confederate statues up?

You need to understand that in right wing world there are two Jefferson Davises.

There is Jefferson Davis "white guy" and there is Jefferson Davis "Democrat"...

It's the "white guy" Jefferson Davis that has all the statues.

It's the "Democrat" Jefferson Davis that was the evil confederate guy that supported slavery and stuff.
