To make money and force the remaining employees to work twice as hard for the same pay.
Sadly many on here will bootlick and say "Yes sir corporate masta." Remember as Sebastian Bach put it nearly 30 years ago, "Can't be king of the world if you're slave to the grind."
The fact is too many believe the lies that corporations are job creators. Sadly they aren't loyal to this country or its citizens. It is only loyal to itself and the almighty dollar. This was disgusting and to fire 900 people before Christmas on Zoom no less makes this guy the biggest Scrooge ever. I never heard of this company and I don't ever want to use their products or services ever.
For those of us that are not going to risk watching a video linked by a poster that joined today, could someone who has watched share the same of the company involved?
These employees were mostly millennials that were working from home and unproductive, working 2 hours a day for 8 hours of pay.
Sometimes people have to learn the hard way.
Some were. Not all. I imagine that a number were productive. I think in the current events post that predated the PaOC thread, it said only about a few hundred were the 2 hour employees. That said with it being that widespread, it seems to be a (mis-)management issue.
Thats disgusting....... Everyone should protest this!!!!!!
That has happened to me more than once during my career. The severance package this company has offered is actually pretty good and with the current labor shortage these employees should be able to transition to new employment quickly if they put forth some effort.
