There is true racist history in conservatives suppressing the vote of some people all the way down to the current efforts.

After the Civil Rights Act was passed, those racist Dixiecrats like Strom Thurmond fled to the open arms of the GOP. Now conservative historical revisionists will try to say that Democrats started the Klan (inaccurate and irrelevant) and that MLK was a Republican (he was not).

People should now read how Jonah Goldberg, a leading conservative, has criticized the history of and continuance of racism within the ranks of Republicans and conservatives. Goldberg was roundly slammed for stating what was obvious: From civil rights to today's alt-right movements, Republicans have embraced racist ideologies. That is what causes thinking voters of color to avoid the Republican party.
Yeah, let’s bring up a bunch of dead people while conveniently leaving out living racists like Biden.

MAGA = Make America White Again

Please don't let your bias make you color blind.
Where do you get this nonsense? And, yes, per the bolded, it's pure nonsense.

"Make America White Again"? More nonsense.

If republicans are so "terrified", then explain to us all how in VA the republican slate won all the spots in the gubernatorial election?

ETA: It will come as a shock to you but...Like me, most people want their neighbors to be clean, quiet and law-abiding. They don't care what their race may be. Nor do they care what religion they are.

You must live an insular life. When we owned our home, our nearby neighbors were legal immigrants who came from the following countries --- The Phillippines, China, Vietnam, Korea, India and Colombia. And guess what? We couldn't have asked for better neighbors.

.
The Trump Administration was no friend of legal immigration:

Legal Immigration Cut in Half, Most Categories Blocked: By 2021, Donald Trump will have reduced legal immigration by 49% since becoming president – without any change in U.S. immigration law, according to a National Foundation for American Policy analysis. An April presidential proclamation blocked the entry of legal immigrants to the United States in almost all categories.

The Most Highly Skilled Foreign-Born Blocked or Denied at High Rates: The denial rate on new H-1B petitions for high-skilled foreign nationals has increased from 6% in FY 2015 to 30% in FY 2020. A June 2020 presidential proclamation suspended the entry of foreign nationals on H-1B and L-1 (intracompany transferees) visas........As reported in August, “Today, even the most highly skilled individuals in the world cannot enter America under the Trump administration’s immigration policy."

Don't forget his attempted ban on all Muslims from entering the country.

Thanks for showing us just how bogus your earlier post was.

I don’t see Trump blocking all immigration from your data. Trump ran on the platform of stopping illegal immigration and raising legal immigration requirements so that the most eligible people are allowed in and that appears to be what he did.

Leo---You really need to pay attention to what is going on.

Do you even have a clue as to why the denial rate for H1-Bs has increased? Clearly, you don't have a clue. There is a lot of fraud in the program. Applicants weren't being screened well and many were incompetent. Plus, companies like Tata and Infosys were scooping up a lot of visas. Why is that? It's because they would go to companies and convince them to dump their American employees and replace them with H1-B contractors because it was cheaper. To add insult to injury, the Americans were forced to train their replacements. Now, many East Indians who came as H1-Bs and now have green cards, blatantly discriminate against non-East Indians when hiring.

Unless you've worked in IT and found yourself out of work, you are in no position to judge. Period.

Your proving his point, the poster in question didn't judge at all. All he did was show the facts that Trump was anti-legal immigration. You are 100% right, about folks hiring people to teach their H1B replacement their job. This is well known, but that doesn't miss the point that Trump was Anti-Legal Immigration. Maybe not all legal immigration, but certainly the policies that had been utilized for decades, in which all immigrants in America came in under.

He wanted to limit legal immigration as much as possible, hence why it's obvious why the majority of immigrants, who came in under the previous laws wouldn't want to vote for him. He is anti-illegal immigration too. But that doesn't change that he also had a plan to limit legal immigration and was implementing it. In fact Trump's policies (and the continuation of some of them under Biden) + COVID (far less immigration) is probably one of the reasons we have a worker shortage in the first place. The worker shortage means less job-job competition and it will only deepen going forward until some of these jobs disappear because we are an ageing country (hence why immigration was such a big thing in the last 50 years in the first place).

I think as a whole, they tend to align more conservatively, although many of my Indian American friends voted for Biden because of Kamala (being half Indian). Not sure if next time Kamala’s Indian heritage will be enough to garner their votes though.

Wrong^^^^

Trump is not "anti-legal immigration". Not in the least. After all, he did marry 2 legal immigrants, so get a clue.

We don't have an IT worker shortage. If you paid any attention to the whole H-1B issue, you would have learned that H1-Bs hold jobs while many experienced American IT workers go without.

I see you're one of those who think that it's important to increase our population. What you propose is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. What happens when those immigrants age? Do we keep adding more and more people? How many will be too many for you? 1 billion? 2 billion? I bet you wring your hands over global warming and water shortages. Oh, the irony!

Meanwhile, the topic of the thread has gone off the rails. If you want to argue this issue, start another thread pertaining to this specific issue. I'm done discussing this issue in this thread

The VA election was all about the suburban strategy. Youngkin used CRT to spread fear to all of the white suburban moms. Was that not race baiting?

I'm glad you live in a diverse neighborhood, but there any many people in suburban middle class America that are truly fearful of changes to their neck of the woods. It only takes 5-10% ( or less) of voters to be moved by a given strategy to sway election. I'm not suggesting that all people are racist, but there's enough of them to manipulated by divisive rhetoric.

No I'm not insulated, I live in a diverse area and I've traveled to 40 out of 50 states along with some international travel as well.

This is all made up nonsense. Make America Great Again was just a slogan. You created that bs. It amazes me what the dems have done to us with this division. Makes me sick. 73% white and we voted in Obama. He got the third most votes in history behind Biden and Trump. Yet, we are to believe there is this huge racism going on in the US? Um, totally fabricated by the Dems.
