.I'm sorry. Clearly I offended you by implying missing 'one sample' would not impact the monitoring of the efficacy of waste water treatment plants, medical or environmental research.

I'm sure you are aware this personal attack on me is rude and unwarranted.

Thank goodness. We are more able to identify areas of concern that treatment facilities may be missing and adjust accordingly.

Guess what also comes out of your rear end... Your DNA. With a national DNA database it's conceivable tracing things back to your dwelling would not be that difficult.

How would you do that? Wastewater that is tested is from millions of homes and businesses.

Wastewater-based disease surveillance is a rapidly developing science and the information could be used to monitor what we eat, drink or take into our body.

To date, wastewater-based epidemiology has focused on reporting drug, alcohol and pharmaceutical consumption patterns by analyzing domestic wastewater.
Here we explore the relationships between chemicals in wastewater and social, demographic, and economic parameters of the respective populations. We show the extent to which consumption of chemicals such as opioids and illicit drugs are associated with sociodemographics.
We also examine chemicals that reflect individuals’ consumption of food components in wastewater and show that disparities in diet are associated with educational level. Our study shows that chemicals in wastewater reflect the social, demographic, and economic properties of the respective populations and highlights the potential value of wastewater in studying the sociodemographic determinants of population health.

I am pretty sure that sewage analysis could be linked with healthcare data and then to individuals living in analyzed area.

I fail to see what is Orwellian about such things.

It's a broad public metric and not linked to an individual.

For example, publishing everyones individual health records is not the same thing as publishing public health statistics like % with diabetes or number of births etc.

This is a common practice in various industries where you scrub any INDIVIDUAL IDENTIFIERS before using data to aggregate and look for trends and statistics.

Really just not following the logic of the complaint and linking it to individuals, can you elaborate because it seems like a huge unsupported leap.

Only if it's not running correctly.

We've been here a year and a half. Don't even know exactly where it is. Called out a septic company to see if they could figure it out when we were going to do some digging, and they weren't sure. Everyone agrees on about where it's probably at, though.

The prior owners had the home for two years and never had the septic system serviced. The owners prior to them were from the same family. There were no owners prior to that.

I called the bigger septic service companies around here and none of them have records for our address.

The house is 23 years old and has apparently never needed its septic tank serviced.

I like you but you rarely know what you're talking about.
it all depends on how much solids are going in, and how well microbes break down those solids. i grew up with a septic tank situation as a kid and as a family of four we had it pumped out just once in 15 years.

Have a relative who is in plumbing told me about a house where these two brothers lived like hermits. Septic filled up so the next solution? Well just cut the pipe in the homes basement...voila, greatly expanded capacity.

Lol maybe they were just worried about Orwellian overlords tracking their ingestion of pop tarts and mt. dew lol.

I suggest some tour their local sewage treatment plant.

That was one first places DH took me. IIRC it was our 3rd date. Driving home from a ballgame I saw lights in the distance in the middle of nowhere east of Houston. Oh, that's a sewage treatment plant, wanta see?

The operator was enthusiastic to have visitors on a Saturday night.

DH was majoring in Civil engineering, specializing in water and sewage treatment.
