It happened a year ago tomorrow. A bunch of people trespassed on the grounds of the capitol, brought poles, threw rocks, broke some windows, bonked a few heads, and police opened the doors for them. A a number of them went inside, wandered through the halls (some wearing silly costumes), took selfies, and stole some things before clearing out.

They did far less damage than any of the 2020 riots, where buildings had been burned, people were injured and killed, stores were looted in more than a hundred different cities in the country. The only person killed in the Jan. 6 protest, was an unarmed protestor, a woman who tried to climb through a windows that had been broken by other protestors, didn't threaten any one or carry any weapon, but then was shot to death by a Capitol Policeman. The next day, a policemen had a heart attack, far from the Capitol, and died.

Some of the protestors were jailed for breaking in, disobeying police, etc., as they should be. Others have remained in jail (some in solitary confinement) without charge or arraignment, in violation of their 5th and 6th amendment rights of a speedy trial, deprivation of their liberty without due process, the right to counsel, the right to confront their accusers, etc.

I just wonder if those who say it was something other than an insurrection will be silenced for spreading "misinformation".

They’ll make it a National day of mourning. Meanwhile they’re trying to prevent congresspeople on the right from being able to run in 2022, and claim they’re “investigating” all who signed some document— I don’t know what it is. They commanded their attack dog Garland to go “get ‘em!” It’s only about their losing their power.
Democrats have never sunk this low.

New National Holiday. Bigger than 9/11, bigger than Pearl Harbor Day.

The worst thing in our entire History.

Worse than Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and the Marco Inaros asteroid attacks!

Does trespassing, taking selfies, breaking windows, stealing a desk, and reciting silly chants against various officials, compromise an "insurrection"? With no weapons used, no physical threats or acts, no intention of "taking over the government", no plans for what to do next except straggle out of the building and go home?

If so, as an eyewitness said on TV, this was the poorest, most ineffectual "insurrection" in the history of the country, and maybe of the world.

Calling it an "insurrection" is like calling the robbery of a few things from a 7-11, an "attempt to shut down the nation's commerce".

It was a protest. But a far milder protest than the "Peaceful Protests" of the Summer of Love in 2020. This protest barely deserves the name.

It's all over the mainstream news so they can ignore and bury all the failures of the democratic party, No talk of inflation, no talk of surging crime, no talk of where are the rest of Americans still in Afghanistan, no talk about world problems.

It is all the 6th, the 6th and how it was some infamous horrible event on the scale of 9/11 or Pearl harbor and fascists are lurking everywhere and the democracy is under dire threat.
