What's to stop everyone from being a thief then instead of working? What happens to the supply when everyone is a thief, and no one is left to do all the work that goes into making the supply available? And what happens when the thieves are no longer poor because they have stolen so much? By that point, thieving is basically their occupation.
I think we should all knock on her door and take what we need.
