Are you denying the influence information we consume from any source can have an impact? We know that it does. To say otherwise is denying science.

Oh, I readily condemn leftist efforts to remove books they don't like either. I have the same reaction there as I do here. We aren't living in Saudi Arabia or Iran. We shouldn't be banning books at a public library.

It works both ways. Despite your denialism...

Sure they do, according to the left. They do it often. They just don’t like their techniques used against their agenda. This mayor is shining a light onto their hypocrisy.

Who wants unrestricted free speech in their libraries? I DO.

To me this is part of the problem. There is no room for conversation and differing views on this topic. By both the extreme left and right you are in one box or the other. Except the left will actively try to cancel you from your job and life if you don’t tow their line on EVERY SINGLE belief. I have no problem with their being pro and anti lgb books in a public library, but I think the left’s extreme aggressive attitude towards people who don’t think lgb is normal is causing some of this backlash from the right. At the same time, some of the right’s obsession with calling out lgb is weird.

I say live and let live. Treat people like you would want to be treated regardless of whom they sleep with (excluding pedophelia, animals, etc). They are human beings after all. At the same time, I don’t have to believe what you believe and accept any “alternative” lifestyle as healthy or normal. That moderate view gets me labeled as homophobic and cancelled by the left. They are out of hand.

The article explains that citizens have complained, that this is taxpayer money, that the mayor will leave legalities to the attorneys, but is withholding funds for now. People in the community complained. They should be heard. Is there pornography? Is it unsuitable content for kids? The article doesn’t say.

I have no problem with gay people at all. But there’s a slippery slope happening in society where kids are actually being invited to secret clubs by teachers, unbeknownst to parents, and kids are being groomed to think they are not the gender they are by birth.
These books are being used as tools by some teachers who want control over kids’ perceptions. There’s a push to have more published. Why classic literature is being removed and replaced with this type of indoctrination material is hypocrisy and is just plain wrong.

Exactly. People don’t want garbage in their towns. Your town may be fine with it. Let the citizens of these towns decide.

Agree that the indoctrination happening in schools is wrong. Kids minds are the most susceptible to various views. All kids feel weird or like they don’t belong at some point and to take advantage of that to push their views is wrong.
