Whether no knock warrants are "good" or "bad" is a different discussion from whether or not the police acted reasonably and within policy, however. Right?

I am not blaming the individual cop.

No knock warrants put the man in a position to be killed unfairly.

The policy is culpable and his family should sue the city and win.

The problem is that taxpayers end up paying because the cops are stupid. Maybe the individual cops should be made to pay.

Maybe, but it is the city that allows the idiotic and deadly policy. The individual cop probably acted reasonably given that the guy was going for a gun and they thought he was the murderer.

Punish the city and make them undo the policy and outlaw the no knock warrants.

Punishing the city for allowing the stupid policy will help the victim's family more $$$$. Punishing the cop for what exactly? He was in a bad situation from this policy.

As far as the tax payers go, so what? The government allowed this dumb policy and they should pay. Make the voters hold the government accountable.

Most Democrats are too dumb to understand they ARE the problem.

No knock raid... they take their chances. I have little sympathy if a cop gets shot/killed.

If an innocent person, with no record that would warrant invading his house, is dead.. the Police did NOT act reasonably or responsibly.

We may not agree on much, but we see eye to eye on this.

In US policing, no knock warrants are like firearms: Way, way overused. An exceptional tool to be used in exceptional cases has become routine.

And as you yourself seem willing to at least start discussing, there can be a huge gap between "reasonable" and "within policy". At least, thanks to cameras, we're having the debate now. A lot of the body politic doesn't listen and won't read, but they can see.

"No better at preventing excessive police force", "GOP areas"? Last I checked 95% of all "unarmed" black people were shot and killed by police in Democrat controlled cities. Its probably closer to 100% but I'm covering an outlier GOP city if it exists
Everything Democrats have touched in the last few years has turned to shet: From their Summer of Love, to their best Governor Cuomo sending old people in Nursing homes to their deaths. to Chaz.

It's along the same line as people acting like Trump is some sort of terrible Racist, when Joe Biden was responsible for locking up 100,000 of thousand mostly black men with his Draconian crime bill, and Trump freed thousands of them. From the Bizzaro Democrat point of view you would think Biden the Segregationist freed thousands of black people. The truth is Biden locked them up
