This is only for federal loans. Biden runs the risk of alienating those being crushed with private student loan debt, and that idiot in the other thread who signed an ISA on the dotted line with his Mom's encouragement and now his Mom is whining about how much he has to pay.
This is true. But, politically, there is probably more upside than downside on that front as I'm tracking that less than 8% of student loans are privately held.
Biden should be invoiced for all the student loan interest due to taxpayers that wasn't collected as a result of his endless student loan pauses and be personally held liable for every single penny.
Federal student loans go right to the school, but the schools will issue “refunds” to students not living on campus, etc., to cover off campus living expenses (assuming the loan amount covered that stuff). It can be a pretty chunk of change.
My wife's federal loan servicer issued no refunds to her even if she dropped a class.
The GOP should just counter with ZERO interest and all accrued interest is eliminated. Borrowers are responsible for the principal borrowed only. That would be fair.

No. No. No. Everyone else has to pay to borrow money... mortgages, auto loans, etc. This is no different.
