Those strange Ukrainians don't want to stay in Mexico, they quickly run to the US border and get free benefits and apartments.

Hundreds of Ukrainian migrants have arrived in the Tijuana area so far this year, with the majority arriving this month following the Russian invasion of their country.

Since the start of the year, 487 Ukrainians have arrived in the region, said Jesús Alejandro Ruiz Uribe, a federal delegate representing the state of Baja California, adding that 310 have made it to this part of Mexico in March alone.

He stated almost none of the Ukrainian migrants have asked to stay at public or private shelters and seem to have enough money to pay for their own housing, meals and transportation.

Most of the migrants arriving in Mexico are doing so via Cancun or Mexico City before heading north to Tijuana and the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

The number of Ukrainians who attempted to enter the U.S. illegally stands at 5,534 this fiscal year, which began Oct. 1, according to CBP data. In February, border agents and border officers encountered 1,147 Ukrainians nationwide. The data shows that only 11 Ukrainians have been processed under the Title 42 health orders this fiscal year, which means that they are almost immediately expelled. The other 5,523 were processed under Title 8, which may or may not result in detention.

Nah, they should stay in Mexico. Surely there is a labor shortage in Latin America too. Plus the UKR is well educated. They will only add to the diversity of Mexico, and increase the economy.

Though, Mexico is much cheaper than the USA, refugees can die if they don't want to work. I'm sure a Ukrainian doctor or programmer can live fine in Mexico if she learns Spanish.

The word got out that we have a porous border, we are the door mat to the world and will take care of every foreigner that can make it to our border announced or unannounced.

Not necessarily. Not all of them desire to return after leaving.

"Canada is home to 1.4 million people of Ukrainian descent – the world’s second largest Ukrainian diaspora after Russia. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians farmed the country’s west. The spires of their churches still dot rural landscapes and large cities. Prominent community leaders and politicians are of Ukrainian ancestry, including Canada’s deputy prime minister, Chrystia Freeland."

And still no one can give me a good reason why they make the above assumption. The falsehood that Ukrainians want to come here for free benefits. These are people fleeing for their lives from bombs and bullets, not economic reasons.

There is no reason to assume they wouldn’t want to work and earn a living. Unless you just hate foreigners.

I'm no expert, but I believe the UN has most countries agreeing on what constitutes a refugee, and lays down some things such as countries having some sort of asylum program.

As for work visa's and number of refugees a country accepts, that is up to the individual country.

The temporary humanitarian visa's in Australia and Canada may be a coincidence of three years...not sure, but so far can't find anything under the UN that states a length a visa must be.

0(zero) Ukrainians have asked to stay in Mexico, according to Mexican authorities.

I guess an immigrant has to work in Mexico if she wants to survive.

I am predicting raise of street crime, and drop in prostitute's going rates. Not because they are bad people, or anything. But some percentage of the people who lost every possession, would turn to crime and/or prostitution.
