55 mph speed limits, freeze in winter, sweat in summer, travel at night: it's all there. These people love telling us what to do and this is a chance too good too miss.
The ghost of Jimmy Carter has come back to haunt us. Those of you who weren't around in the 70's, you're getting a living history lesson.
The administration is already embracing the most odious regimes in the world to get us oil. Now it it telling us to change ourselves, eagerly inserting itself in our daily lives.
All because it won't get oil from the cheapest, most reliable, environmentally friendliest place in the world: America.
Understanding people who drive gas guzzling vehicles inefficiently and then whine about the cost of gasoline is hard some days.
Do you support telling petroleum producers they cannot import or export oil? What does that mean for Royal Dutch Shell and British Petroleum operations in the USA?

There are some good ideas in the article. I don’t like lowering the speed limits as that will create more accidents. It’s not speed per se that causes accidents it’s the differential of speed among the cars and distracted driving. Let’s be honest, law enforcement doesn’t do a good job preventing aggressive driving or distracted drivers. Need harsher penalties for both. Just keeping traffic to a steady pace would save some fuel.
I like the idea of letting people work from home when possible. In this electronic age It’s stupid to have everyone drive to work everyday.
I am against car free Sunday’s. That’s just asinine. It’s the only day for many people they have a chance to run around and get things done or drive to a place of enjoyment like the beach, woods, shopping etc. only in the most dire of circumstances but even then I think there are better alternatives (e.g., give employees time during the week for running errands, half days off on fridays, no Saturday work, etc).
One thing nice about my area, I doubt our police would do anything to stop anyone from going to Church or the store.
