But Democrats generally don’t like prosperity or wealth! They like oppression and dependence on government. So even the ideas of prosperity and wealth are divisive now, thanks to Democrats.
What kind of a statement is that? I'm a Democrat (mostly). I like prosperity and wealth. I especially like it when its spread around so a lot of people can experience it, instead of just a few. But I have no problem with rich people.
I hate oppression. Oppression to me means killing or jailing political opponents, stifling the free press, forcing everyone to adhere to a strict religious moral code. See Russia, China and Iran for examples. I don't see much oppression in the US.
I don't like dependence on the government. Sometimes people need a hand, and I'm glad we have programs to help them, but it should be a temporary situation. The best way to end dependence on the government is to make education free or cheap so people can get good paying jobs.
We are no less a country of immigrants than we were in 1940. We're still all looking for a better life for our children, whether you were born in Mexico or New York City or Omaha.
Maybe things took a turn for the worse in the 1980s - that's when Gordon Gecko famously said "greed is good". That's when cutting taxes for the wealthy was sold as being good for everyone because the benefits would supposedly "trickle down". That's when people started singing God Bless America or Proud to be an American, to cover up our faults with empty patriotism.
Wrong! Our native born citizen population way outnumbers our immigrant one and has for some time now. Time to shed that stupid label and just be ourselves a nation of native born American citizens not a nation of immigrants.
I can. And it will happen. When we are physically in a war in THIS country on OUR land. I have been saying only a 911 type event will unite us again but now I think it's more of a full on war. And we are closer than we ever were since the Cuban missile crisis.
yes....just think of all the unknowns coming across the border, making their way to the interior of our country, settling in densely populated areas and blending in, laying low, making plans. Kinda scary, isn't it?
Our shared historical figures? Wokeness means founding fathers are canceled as evil.
Our shared historical events? The 1619 Project literally events evidence out of thin air to push a woke everything is racist agenda and yet is praised and promoted by much of the biggest names in media.
Our faith in institutions? They are at all-time lows and sinking. Most Americans do not trust the media, the government, big business, organized religion, big tech, the military, etc.
Our faith in society as a whole? Everything is racist and full of white privilege so in response we are implementing systemic racism. Hoax hate crimes are more abundant than real hate crimes.
Our economic system? The youth are being taught that businessmen are bad and socialism is good.
Our love of free speech? BigTech censors, the public cancels people who think differently.
The constitution? It is common to hear people, including the beloved RGB say that the USC is outdated.
Citizenship? We have policies tantamount to open borders.
A strong national government? Blue cities and states openly obstruct federal officials on enforcing immigration laws and red states and cities say they will do the same on gun restrictions.
The media? Faith is at lows, because they are propaganda that cheerlead for their preferred party, this includes NPR, NYT, and WaPo. Everyone who cares to know, knows that our media lies, including lies through omission.
Why join the military? What is the purpose? To promote wokeness?
Usually it’s war. Many are just fighters. Others pacifist. To get the warring folks to stop chasing the pacifist an outside war must ensue.
It really is even more basic than that. The ego, the competitive spirit and the challenge. I know compared to my bro n sis I’m the warrior in the family. Didn’t ask for the role, but it’s there. I see others at work, then the political realm. I watch leaders - and history. Even back to Biblical days. It’s in some of our genes to fight, we will always find something to dispute about. There’s no unity and will never be, best we can hope for is civility agreement and tolerance.

I agree with everything except free or cheap education. Although free community college would be ok. Free won't help if kids didn't pay attention and learn in K-12 and K-12 is already free. It's some sort of a social issue when they don't like school and don't care to work for a living when they grow up.
If we truly addressed the social problems of the people who end up not getting educated or trained for jobs instead of just throwing money at them so they can hang out on welfare, we might end up with a lot more people working and being happy with their lives.
But the social issues need to be addressed and kids need to be raised right. If everybody got a piece of the pie and they got it mainly from working, we'd have that in common and not so many greedy people way up at the top with a lower class of resented moochers who just take. We need everyone contributing to make the country better, everyone paying taxes to a government that uses the money wisely (if that is possible!) Our government really needs to wake up and start fixing what's broken instead of being woke or restricting women's rights. (Yes, it's BOTH sides that need to drop the extremist stuff and get to work on the problems.)
