You know this how? The source of most fentanyl is China. It's generally purchased by dealers in the U.S. on the Dark Web from sources in China and paid for with cryptocurrency. Until a few years ago it was coming in via air cargo consignment carriers directly from China on FedEx, UPS, DHL and U.S. Postal Service shipments. When Customs and Border Protection began to target the sources in China and seize fentanyl when it arrived into the U.S. fentanyl distributors in China began shipping it to Mexico where mules attempt to smuggle it into the U.S. During 2021 Customs and Border Protection seized 11.2K lbs of fentanyl. As a result these seizures increased 134%. So far in 2022 CBP has seized 4.2K lbs of fentanyl. These seizure stats don't include DEA or ATF seizures domestic or those of local and state law enforcement counter narcotics operations.

These are some fentanyl distribution cases prosecuted by the Department of Justice. Just about every U.S. court in the DOJ system has fentanyl distribution cases on their dockets.

You have to realize the Dems don't care about removing guns from the hands of criminals. They simply want to disarm law abiding people and leave them defenseless, rather from violent criminals, or from an overpowering, oppressive federal government. The skyrocketing violent crime rates, particularly murder rates, in the most leftist cities of this country is plenty of proof of that.

Nailed it !

Q; How is the local Chevrolet dealer to know that the guy trying to buy a Malibu for cash, is a dangerous driver unless the dealer calls the cops and gets the guy's driving record?

A: It's none of his business. The cops should tell the dealer to go and pound sand. Even though a bad driver can hurt or even kill people with the car he's buying.
Same is true for people buying a gun.

Q: What's the difference between the dealer selling guns, and the dealer selling Chevrolets?

A: There's no part of the Constitution saying that "Since a mobile population is better for freedom and prosperity, the right of the people to own and drive cars shall not be infringed."

It didn't even say that about buying and riding horses and/or buggies, back in 1791. But it DID say it about guns and other such weapons.

How would ever do background checks on "private" sales? I believe it was Washington state that passed such a law. The sheriff's association told them that it was impossible to enforce.

No. Laws establish penalties for specific behaviors known to violate the rights of another. A well crafted law will be invisible to a decent, moral person. If it burdens someone unreasonably, it's an invalid law.

No law prevents any behavior. Laws only create the ability for the State to take punitive action against its citizens.

Saw a story a couple weeks ago where a highway patrolman seized 30,000 Fentanyl pills from the trunk of a car.

Democrat policy just... makes no sense at all. I mean it does if you look at it from a marxist point of view where they want to disarm the populace to bring on their socialist utopian social credit authoritarian surveillance state...

The only way I'll give up my AR-15 would be for $100,000 tax free. For the right price I'd surrender all my weapons. Barring that they will stay with me, I don't care.

Yes, that's almost a daily occurrence. Due to the risk of accidental contamination most law enforcement agencies have issued agents and officers Narcan to administer to other officers or themselves.
