Yes, because everyone knows the gun store is the only place you can buy a gun.

"You just dont want to hear it, because that destroys your argument."

I have always said, it is NOT just what the media reports on, but what they do NOT report on.

When was he last time you say national news story where a gun WAS used to thwart a crime, to save life, etc.?

NONE of these made the "national"news. WHY?

But let 1 white man shoot a black person!!!!!!!

"A pizza delivery driver in Kensington, Penn., defended himself when a man allegedly attempted to rob him. The 39-year-old driver was outside a residence delivering an order just after 7:30 p.m. that Thursday evening, when a man approached him. As the stranger got closer, he produced a gun, aimed it at the driver and demanded his car. Yet, unknown to the crook, the driver was also armed.
The driver rapidly drew his own firearm and opened fire. He shot at the crook several times, with some of the rounds finding their mark. When police arrived, they found the stricken would-be carjacker suffering from multiple wounds, and he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

"A Salt Lake City, Utah, homeowner was disturbed late at night by a knocking at his door. After telephoning police, the homeowner armed himself and answered the door. An armed man standing in the door fired at the resident, who returned fire. In the ensuing struggle the homeowner fatally wounded the man"

"Daphne and Robert Sanford were asleep when their home alarm system sounded. Robert got up to silence the alarm and found a man inside their home trying to enter the code himself. Police arrived a short time later to find Sanford holding the 25-year-old perpetrator at gunpoint. After a brief struggle with police, the intruder was arrested. After the incident, the sheriff stated, “The alarm alerted this family and their quick thinking and the protection with their firearm prevented this case from escalating.”

"When Charles Jameson returned home with his fiancée about 1 a.m. they encountered a man in black clothing walking from a bedroom to another room. During the ensuing attack Jameson defended himself with a frying pan and issued a verbal warning. The intruder continued to attack. Jameson used his weapon to shoot the suspect twice, killing him. No charges were filed against Jameson"

"When two men entered the Detroit, Mich., market and announced a holdup, owner Tony Haddad was neither amused nor intimidated. He drew his .357 mag. revolver, threw one would-be robber to the floor, and then collared his fleeing accomplice. Haddad, who had pulled his gun in self-defense 15 times in 11 months, held the pair at bay until police arrived."

If they did, they would NOT vote for them!

People have broken some law in their lifetime. Be it - jaywalking. Not wearing a seat belt, to imbibing in under age drinking. So spare me the term that there is such a law abiding person to aspire to.
Given that preface , it's common that after multi life loss from a lethal weapon . The public seems to find ways to deter future atrocities. Are you one that clings to your weapon like a child with a pacifier? Daring that anyone take that false comfort away? Or are you a rational adult that recognizes that limitations can in fact lower the risks? I'll encourage a more realistic view of conservative manner to public ownership and proper usage. Far too many folks lack accountability in handling and safety. Rambo folks need not contribute. Step back . Some of these so called shootings are done by your neighbor who you'd swear up and down was law abiding ....
Doubtful. No one is doing any shooting around here, other than at the ranges. The area I live in, which has a population of 32k, has 4 gun shops and 5 ranges. The last shooting here was in 2003, a murder suicide of a married couple.

Flyover country.
As am I (sort of)....

The leftists are targeting flyover country, knowing full well that their 'common sense gun regulations' will do nothing to stop the democrat run cities from remaining war zones.

They like the phrase 'mass shooting' because until the last few years 'mass' shootings were associated with high body counting shootings involving a psycho with a gun but as of late many of these killings are gang or revenge related.
MD, used to have law, don't know if it still does, that states, "when you use a gun in the commission of a crime it is an AUTOMATIC 5 YEARS in jail".

Sounds good, right?

Except it is the FIRST thing plea bargained out.

Laws are no good if they are NOT enforced.

Many prisons now have, 1 day off for every GOOD day served".

IMO, it should be, 1 day ADDED for EACH BAD day served"

"mass shooting' because until the last few years 'mass' shootings were associated with high body counting shootings'"

The media hypes EVERYTHING.

"mass" is 4 or more. Sorry I disagree.

And the crazy thing. If I drive 40 plus miles south, I will be in the third most dangerous city in the country.

This is the problem in California, murderers and bank robbers should not get out of prison alive. No gun law in any nation would have stopped the recent mall shooters in California. The only way to stop criminals is to lock them up until they can't eat solid food or execute them if appropriate. DAs that refuse to prosecute need to be charged themselves in put in prison.

Every single gun used in a crime was oreginally bought by a "responsibe gun owner" You guys have done a pretty crappy job of securing them. Of course, those guns have to be registered, to track the "responsible" owners who funneling them ino the underworld. So why not have a registration system? Ah, you don't want to have it on you if your gun gets in the wrong hands.

20,000 gun deaths means 20,000 responsible gun owners who failed to control their secret 19th century arsenal that is so essential to the security of a free 21st century state.
