Either you're not paying attention, you watch CNN, or your head is up your ...er, in the sand. There are thousands of cases of the "good guy with a gun". You just dont want to hear it, because that destroys your argument.

When was he last time you say national news story where a gun WAS used to thwart a crime, to save life, etc.?

You have to realize the Dems don't care about removing guns from the hands of criminals. They simply want to disarm law abiding people and leave them defenseless, rather from violent criminals, or from an overpowering, oppressive federal government. The skyrocketing violent crime rates, particularly murder rates, in the most leftist cities of this country is plenty of proof of that.

Soon as soon I meet a law abiding citizen I might side with the let's shoot under the guise of self preservation. Self being the operative word.
People have broken some law in their lifetime. Be it - jaywalking. Not wearing a seat belt, to imbibing in under age drinking. So spare me the term that there is such a law abiding person to aspire to.
Given that preface , it's common that after multi life loss from a lethal weapon . The public seems to find ways to deter future atrocities. Are you one that clings to your weapon like a child with a pacifier? Daring that anyone take that false comfort away? Or are you a rational adult that recognizes that limitations can in fact lower the risks? I'll encourage a more realistic view of conservative manner to public ownership and proper usage. Far too many folks lack accountability in handling and safety. Rambo folks need not contribute. Step back . Some of these so called shootings are done by your neighbor who you'd swear up and down was law abiding ....
Doubtful. No one is doing any shooting around here, other than at the ranges. The area I live in, which has a population of 32k, has 4 gun shops and 5 ranges. The last shooting here was in 2003, a murder suicide of a married couple.

The leftists are targeting flyover country, knowing full well that their 'common sense gun regulations' will do nothing to stop the democrat run cities from remaining war zones.
Exactly both suspects arrested so far also charged with illegal possession of firearms including one suspect who was convicted of domestic violence. And had an existing warrant out for his arrest.
They like the phrase 'mass shooting' because until the last few years 'mass' shootings were associated with high body counting shootings involving a psycho with a gun but as of late many of these killings are gang or revenge related.
MD, used to have law, don't know if it still does, that states, "when you use a gun in the commission of a crime it is an AUTOMATIC 5 YEARS in jail".

Then surely you support armed bank robbers having their guns rights restored once they get out of prison along with murderers who use a gun to unjustly kill when they get out of prison. They have paid all the price for their crimes.
This is the problem in California, murderers and bank robbers should not get out of prison alive. No gun law in any nation would have stopped the recent mall shooters in California. The only way to stop criminals is to lock them up until they can't eat solid food or execute them if appropriate. DAs that refuse to prosecute need to be charged themselves in put in prison.
Every single gun used in a crime was oreginally bought by a "responsibe gun owner" You guys have done a pretty crappy job of securing them. Of course, those guns have to be registered, to track the "responsible" owners who funneling them ino the underworld. So why not have a registration system?
