This was on the level of 'the dog ate my homework' or 'the devil made me buy this dress.'

An Ohio man who claimed that Donald J. Trump was legally responsible for his decision to break into the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and make off with a bottle of bourbon and a coat rack was convicted on Thursday in the first trial connected to the riot to feature a defense that blamed the former president.
Although it was a jury trial, the judge was singularly unimpressed with the alibi that the dude was just following orders from Trump. He ordered the man to jail before sentencing and called the attempted defense "disingenuous".
The poor man! He was laid off in the pandemic before he decided to storm the Capitol. When he texted his wife a video of him in the Capitol, she texted back: "I will not post bail."
The judge didn't let Trump off the hook, either. He stated:
Quote:
“I think our democracy is in trouble,” he said, “because unfortunately we have charlatans like our former president who, in my view, doesn’t care about democracy but only about power.”
Trump had nothing to do with it. It's looking more and more that the democrats were behind the whole thing with the DC police coming forward and admitting they were told by the mayor of DC to let the people into the Capital.
So face it, Trump had nothing to do with it and he's never EVER going to jail, and like it or not, it's looking like he's going to make a big come back.

In impeaching Liz Cheney, the WY GOP said the Jan 6 riot was probably an action of 'antifa or BLM'. All sorts of folks have theories to fit their agendas.

Quite the strawman argument as it has nothing to do with no proof that because Trump had nothing to do with 1/6.

I think there are actually 2 plausible answers to the question:
A: Trump was involved from start to finish
B: Trump was a useful idiot that was led by the nose to get people there that day.
Given Miike Lee's text messages released today, it's clear that many people in Washington were working on a plot and nearly pulled it off until State electors, Pence, and others involved got cold feet while watching the January 6th invasion of the Capitol.

Well, now we've had a federal judge who said that Trump probably committed criminal acts as to January 6 and another calling him a charlatan for his actions on Jan. 6. That doesn't mean he had 'nothing to do with it' except in an alternate universe.
