No science backs it up at this point. There is a real emergency however, maybe the government will pay for BLM signs to keep virtue signalers from losing their minds as the last mask mandate falls.

Hopefully it keeps them off planes, out of airports, and out of Florida

I wonder if Biden will be dumb enough to appeal this. Probably.
The court of appeals will uphold the mandate. The judge is a predictably a Trump appointee.

The totalitarian and authoritarian impulses of the ruling junta need to be put on display, front and center, as much as possible. The more people are reminded of what control freaks the Democrats have been over the past two years, the more Democrats will be fired in November.
I think most people recognize Trump as the real loon.

I think you're woefully out of touch with what most people think. Hint: Most people understand Trump isn't in office anymore.

We will still be wearing masks when traveling. Our choice.

Correct and their recommendation does not have to be taken as an all-or-nothing proposition. TSA (I think that is who implemented it) could have kept the mask mandate on incoming international flights only for instance, but instead, they just slapped a blanket extention on without assessing the need first.

I don't think the mask mandate was needed after most states opened up completely and no big spikes occurred. I also think that if we see big spikes again, people will be less inclined to wear a mask regardless after continuing the mandate for so long.

But I do think the Biden administration will appeal, seems all Presidental administrations automatically appeal any decision that limits their power in some way. Even if they don't care about the issue that was blocked, they seem to push to ensure they maintain that extra power.
