True...Public Speaking is one of the best electives anybody can take although that "sex ed" elective that was filled up would've been more fun!
It wasn't an elective at the college I went to. Everyone at that school had to take Core Curriculum courses, and a Speech class was one of the requirements.
colleges have become club med. when i was in college, dorms were bare bones and only slightly more comfortable than prison cells...but we were happily living in them. now, colleges are like resorts with hotel amenities.
also, there are more college administrators than teachers/educators. which type of employees are more impactful to students' education? i think teachers/educators!
I get that club med thing. One DD lived in a campus dorm that was a dump. The other, we bought a house. She had friends who rented rooms. When she graduated we sold it. Made sense. I'd do it again.
The main reason, whatever the tuition is the college loan program will cover it. Before, the colleges had to collect the money so there was incentive to keep the price down.
Now government pays. Tuition 4k, government pays. Tuition 5k government pays.
Some colleges are adding water parks to attract students.
Most colleges, not Ohio State though, charge students extra money to fund varsity sports that lose money. Many colleges charge $1,000 or more per year per student to fund varsity sports. Note - I am not talking about recreational buildings for all students, but scholarship sports.
Democrats like AOC say we should do ZERO reforms and just pay off debt.
Did you know millions of college students will put some of these expenses on their student loans:
Cars
Spring break
Casino trips
Illegal drugs
Big screen TVs
Friday nights at the bar
Democrats like AOC say we should pay for this.
Absolutely absurd, isn't it?
I wonder if AOC charged her recent outing to Florida for spring break to her student loan, then wants the government to pay for it.

it's the privilege for me
