Increase supply. Talk about increasing supply. Prattle on endlessly about increasing supply. Increase supply, then maybe increase supply, and after that, increase supply.
If that doesn't work, I'd increase supply.
Wouldn't that harm the profit margins of the oil companies? What's in it for them?

Though the demand for oil is somewhat inelastic, the fact remains that as the price of any given commodity goes up, demand for that commodity goes down. The oil companies risk losing some of their profit margin if their product gets so expensive that major shifts to alternative energy sources become financially viable.

No, everything you've said is totally wrong. What we need to do is increase supply.

What about future generations? What's in it for them? After we're done wrecking everything, what do we leave for our grandkids?
At this point, yes, nothing can really be done. Would've been great 30 years ago. But if you think we cannot affect the climate, remember we have weapons that can pretty much put us into a radioactive winter. Look at Los Angeles, or Mexico city. We have an impact.
Like it or not fossil fuels are necessary for survival. The world consumes 3.8 billion barrels of oil alone every day. Day after day. They may be phased out at some point but until then let's not pretend that they aren't an essential part of our daily existence.
Btw states like California add about 1.20 in taxes and fees on gasoline. Why don't they suspend their taxes instead?
After bankrupting the piprline after it was half way completed, do you think the drillers of oil trust Biden?
This.
Especially when every one of Biden's executive nominees are flat-out communists like Saule Omarova. You know, the communist spy who wanted to nationalize retail banking. And you know, the same communist spy who literally said the quiet part out loud about bankrupting oil companies.
I'm surprised Houston isn't a ghost town.
