In addition to their underlying psychological issues, they were both subjected to abuse by state, local and federal governments in the name of "COVID mitigation."

Did this play a role or not in your opinion?
I think it probably did.
Based on?
It's possible - we'll never know.
Not as if there was a shortage of mass shootings prior to COVID.
I don't see why.
They both had jobs outside their homes. They voluntarily quit and it was not because of any covid restrictions.
1 for a grocery store and the other in fast food.
However, we do know that Covid restrictions led to a massive increase in teen depression and suicide attempts and we also know that violent crime is way up.

Similar to what solitary confinement does in jails.

Neither of these shooters were restricted. They chose to leave their jobs which were not influenced or forced to close. They were both loners so the fact that they could not go to big parties or get together with their friend group doesn't seem to matter here.
They had the support of their families and did not live alone.
A lot of the teen depression was caused by teens not being able to be social or go to school. I don't think this applies for these 2 guys.

Lets start by not blaming the government agencies that were acting in what was perceived to be the best interest of everyone.
How about lack of socialization skills which should have been learned well before Covid arrived, that should have been done by his parents. Add to it an instant gratification world were kids have no concept of earning anything, working with others and not receiving constant praise for everything from grades to remembering to wipe his a**.
Now comes Covid and for too many kids they have operated with no supervision or structure for the last 18-24 months and to quote a teacher I know "they've gone ferrel".
Why does no one question why a kid needs to be buying Body Armor? And heaven forbid his right to buy guns and ammunition be impeded but I read where 1 poster thinks voting shouldn't start till your 35 because you don't have the maturity to realize the consequences of how you vote till then.

Did COVID Lockdowns and Isolation Play a Role in the Two Latest Mass Shootings?
No, because democrats like lockdowns and isolation.
I don't know about these specific two, but yes, I believe it increased the likelihood of events like these, just like I believe it increased the likelihood of "normal" violent crime.
Put differently, I'm thinking maybe we shouldn't pretend to be shocked that when we see an increase in violent crime overall, we also see an increase in certain types of violent crime, such as this type of massacre.
