I get the 18 for buying a gun. That is same age for military. But training can start earlier.
Alcohol age needs to be dropped too. Its dont nothing except turn alcohol into a right of passage. It is the silliest thing. In college, it has given the Frat Boys are the social power. Its horrible.
The people who get voted for have killed more than every privately held firearm ever has in the history of this country.
Voting is choosing between two people who seek to hold a monopoly on force and violence that they will routinely exercise for the purpose of mass murder.
A better way to say it is that voting doesn't put the onus of killing people directly on the voter, but outsources killing people to the person you voted for.
Keep in mind that in every state where adults cannot rent a vehicle until 25 (or otherwise have huge fees associated with renting if under 25), that is not a law, but practice and policies by private rental car companies. That's a big difference in terms of process and very relevant to this debate.
Gun companies can decide to not sell to people who are under 25 if they choose.
Those rental car companies are losing a lot of business. And it does not make sense because most people under 25 in those states are likely already driving around cars anyways.

Well, you have a point regarding politicians and the military industrial complex. However, in this instance I'm talking about school shootings and the ages at which these weapons are available.
You have to be 21 to buy alcohol. You must also be 21 to drink alcohol. Will the same apply to guns? Will you also have to be 21 in order to use a gun for hunting? Many people under 21 hunt with guns. Will that end?
When I see people I know posting pictures of their five-year-old posing beside dead game, yeah, I kinda would like to see that.
I know that pro-2nd Amendment advocates say that we need guns to "keep the government from becoming abusive" and for "self-defense" and this is a reasonable concern, though I disagree with it. I don't know about guns to be clear, but I am not a fan of the 2nd Amendment, but what about a compromise?
It seems like shooters are more likely to be young.
I am 20, I can buy a military style gun, but in many states I can't rent a car. Many places you can't rent a car or if you get hit with huge fees if you are under 25.
It just seems weird that it can potentially be easier to get a military style gun than renting a car.
Perhaps to reduce violent shootings, should military style guns be made for only people 25 and above as a compromise against outright banning them?
Apples and oranges, And what are "military style" guns? An AR is a hunting rifle. I have an old 22 that functions just the same.
