There always have been, and always will be, millions of Americans with mental illness. For many people, mental illness is temporary, such as depression. With so many mentally ill people out there, there is no way you could possibly identify and treat all of them. Many go about completely unidentified.
But only in the US do mentally ill people have such easy access to guns.

there are lots of kids today that cut (have no idea why, but that is a fact).... back in my day cutting was pertaining to cutting class or school to go to the mall or the beach

Hey, I liked it when America produced most of what it consumes and everyone could count on a job putting enough bread on the table, but democrats tell use the good ol days are dead and gone forever and not coming back. It doesn't seem like we get any choice in the bad consequences that result from bad policies and decisions made by the politicians.
You do know that the GOP has been the super business friendly, keep poor people as poor as possible as they race for the bottom party right? The "hey that guys trying to take whats yours" as their buddies take 95% of the pie, and watch you and the other person fight over the 5%.
And the Democrats...are half right if thats what they're telling you. Those days? They really are gone. Its the future we need to live in it. But we should do more from a national security pov.

And to sum it all up? If everyone had everything they could need or want, we would still have broken people who will do these crimes. You want to make this political about who does it, when its not. Its so much nonsense.

So we can't possibly identify and treat perhaps a million people who have mental illness, but it would be easy to round up and collect 300 MILLION guns from perhaps 150 MILLION gun owners who are determined to keep them???
