They would create a precedent and ALL presidents and VP are fair game after they leave.

Once Trump was acquitted of the impeachment and left office, Congress had no business touching this but the DOJ. It shows how obsessed Pelosi and tainted they made this case hard to prosecute in court but then again, their purpose is to hurt Trump politically so he doesn't run and beats Biden or Kamala who are the only 2 running in 2024 and don't want an anti-globalist in the W.H. China has a lot investment here.
I think you may have stated that a few hundred times, now it turns out that Jordan was meeting with Trump in December. Sure that’s a candidate for the committee. Anything relevant to todays hearing or just more of the same.

How is this one sided when all the witnesses are republicans?

The witnesses are republicans appointed by trump to attorney general ,White House counsel, , leaders of the DOJ and state republican election officials all testifying no fraud occurred

In addition republican judges appointed by trump found no evidence of fraud

Hershman calling them nuts is surreal

You want more disbarred lawyers like guiliani and convicted felons like bannon?
A Congressman who inquired about pardons for lawmakers like Jordan?

The committee is. If you can't admit this then that's on you. The DOJ can't use the committee because it's tainted of bias. That's why after the impeachment and Trump left government it should have been done by the DOJ or Special Prosecutor. The DOJ isn't going to touch this.

That is true, both by the law and IRL. You know when you get a call from someone, who that is, and probably why they are calling. It can affect the witness.

Meanwhile in reality.....the DOJ is interviewing folks, and demanding the transcripts from the committee. But sure they wont touch this.

I believe your comment here is precisely the reason they are having this hearing. If, after his second impeachment, he had been denied from ever again holding (or even running for) office, all this would be moot.

Especially if you haven't heard from this person in two years. Now all of sudden they want to talk to you? A person would have to be a fool not to believe anything else but his intent to intimidate which Trump is excellent in doing. Knowing it and proving it in a court of law without actual evidence would be nearly impossible, though. It's a shame that witness didn't take the call (as Marlow suggested) so there would be something to hang the hat on.

The image of Rudy, Sidney Powell, Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne, and Trump meeting secretly plotting their illegal moves in the Oval Office when the staffers barge in, followed by the ensuing verbal "screaming" and apparent threats of physical personal violence is going to be interesting in the movie version. This was about 6 weeks after the election. Challenges have not been going anywhere and were being thrown out of court. Anyone with half a brain, most of the people in the room, would have realized that the election was lost, unless they have discarded the whole notion of a fair election and are actively and seditiously seeking the overthrow of the constitutional transfer of power and a coup. People at that level of government have experienced other elections closer than this one. Stone and Flynn were not at the meeting but were surely involved. While they all are spreading the big lie, they surely cannot sustain the charade among themselves that there was sufficient fraud to change the outcome. Trump's seditious plot certainly was multi-faceted even before the events leading directly to January 6 insurrection. Special attention needs to be focused more on that meeting and what was going on at the Willard Hotel.

Well, they can persecute him, but they can't prosecute him.
