I live in a large downtown high-rise with a lot of Tesla owners. While they may not drive much, many tend to travel extensively on trips via airplane, so in the end their carbon footprint is probably higher than average. Not to mention many own a gas guzzler as a secondary vehicle.
It doesn't seem to me that most people seem to particularly care about very high gas prices in this country. People have to pay whatever price they charge and they seem to accept it. You would think people would be protesting $5 national average but everyone is quiet. I don't even think this is going to hurt Democrats in November
$10 per gallon is the bare minimum needed to change people's behavior and save us from ourselves. I am hoping gas hits $15 per gallon before the end of the year. It's time to turn the page on fossil fuels.
It is only impacting the rest of the economy. People cannot change their commute or their daily driving needs. There won't be any discretionary money left to spend elsewhere if people are living paycheck to paycheck and most is going to the local gas station.
This is the true answer, that and the well known increased use of credit cards(what could go wrong). Right now people are slowing their other discretionary spending. Changing your driving habits is very, very difficult. Not so easy to go from feeling the freedom to go were you will to having to carpool and restrict your driving. But Gas purchases dont fuel the economy all that discretionary spending does. And one day when people realize they have no where to go because they simply cant afford to buy anything when they get there then real anger will start.

That would certainly ensure a massive red wave election that could help turn things around, so maybe it would be for the best.
Don't forget about people paying $1,000 monthly for winter home heating oil. I heard a Democratic voter complaining about her oil bill so I asked her why she voted for Brandon because the Democrats wanted higher oil prices all along to boost sales of EV's, even Obama said it as POTUS. She had no idea what the Dems agenda was, maybe she realizes her mistake now and will vote GOP next time, like the rest of the millions who made the same wrong choice when voting.

If gas gets that high you won’t have to worry about global warming. That will be the least of your worries. You will have to worry about how to put food on your table, how to keep yourself from freezing in the winter (or overheating in the summer) , and how to stop your neighbors from killing you and taking what little you have left.
Stop drinking the globalists environmental coolaid. History, has shown that there is nothing we can do to stop the planet’s heating and cooling cycles.

I think you are underestimating humans ability to adapt and innovate.
No thanks. Protests are silly and have yet to impact significantly the production, distribution or the quantity.
Yelling in groups is annoying. Which reminds me why I don't go to concerts. Noise pollution.
Patooey to capitalism when it inflates to the point of basic needs being whittled. Exxon is living up to it's reputation of never letting a opportunity go to waste . Line those pockets! ( That's my ten sec protest) now to wait and see how it impacted the market price.
Drats it hasn't!
Exxon Mobil's 2022 Q1 profit margin is only 6.25%.
For comparison purposes, 2022 Q1 profit margins...
Obviously he stoped US oil production and exporting and began importing from our adversaries and did this as soon as he got into the White House. He campaigned on this in order to gain support from the radical left and their alleged hope for a Green New Deal.
It’s amazing how many people are totally clueless and it explains how these corrupt and incompetent politicians have got into office and have managed to stay there.
Can I get a link? I respect that some people don't trust the mainstream media. Please don't quote any right wing outrage porn sites like Brietbart to me .They suck at sourcing. I'm going to see what Ben Stein has to say (a conservative BTW).

This type of Dem overbearing wanna play parent thinking is exactly why we're in this mess.
