interestingly, this was written almost 2 whole years ago, by some cub "journalist" with beginner journo skills and no qualified editor in sight...

They are wrong. Chicagoans routinely organize and protest against gun violence in their neighborhoods all the time, and many are gearing up their activism again after one of Chicago’s bloodiest weekends.
you'd never use the bolded together in a sentence.
On point, however, having been written almost 2 years ago - pray tell us what that organizing and protesting has done "all the time" since she describes pre-Jun '20 activity, and what it's accomplished since.

I can give you more recent examples, too, but they might be behind paywalls. That snippet directly addressed some of the inaccuracies seen on this thread.

It raised consciousness. You want more details, ask her.
"we're angry" seems to be the mantra of too many americans. is it a mental illness to enjoy being consistently angry? i think so.
if the thousands and thousands of "angry" people who protest ad nauseum about every damn thing spent their time instead by volunteering to mentor troubled kids, teach free ged classes to dropouts to help them get a high school diploma, or numerous other things to actually help others, they could change lives for the better....including their own.
screaming, yelling, and throwing angry fits does nothing!

Most of those illegal guns are purchased outside of the city and state where there are lax gun laws, strawman sales and unregulated gun shows. Maybe other states should start cracking down there.
Wouldn't it be ironic if one of these angry protesters pulled out a sword and killed someone? Or a gun, for that matter.
They aren't angry over gun violence. They are angry that those who oppose them are armed enough to stop them from doing an October Revolution. If the idiots were angry over gun violence, they would be storming the prisons and killing the violent criminals who used the guns to kill.
