If Biden doesn't run, then the primary election earlier in 2024 will become hugely significant.
Who will be in it? And who will win, to go on to the Nov 2024 election? And why?
At this point, can you even imagine stepping into the voting booth on Nov. 5, 2024, and finding Joe Biden's name as the only Democrat candidate for President?
Nah, run ole brandon again, hell he got 80 million votes last time ! There aren't many comedy shows on TV these days and entertainment like joe doesn't come around too often.
I don't think the Democrats will get rid of Biden, he is a "Frontman" they can control. Getting rid of him would put that in jeopardy and would destroy the "Everything is wonderful" Democratic mantra. I actually see it as more of a chance that Harris will be removed from the Ticket in 2024. It would be a lot easier for her to "bow out" with a semi-legitimate excuse that they could try and sell to the American People.
However, IF he does not end up running they need to do what they do and find someone who "Checks the right boxes". For that you have Pete Buttigieg. He would check the right box as being the first openly gay President, or even as a VP replacement.
They won’t run anyone they can’t control. Mayor Pete wouldn’t do very well because fair or not there is a lot of anti-lgbt pushback right now. Plus he’s doing a terrible job with supply chain. Yang isn’t far left enough and Tulsi is too independent. As much as I don’t like him, Beto has some name recognition now. They won’t run a leftist celeb because they might not be able to control them. So, I’m think Beto or maybe Klobuchar (she checks some minority boxes).
