Here is another show to drop. The initial burst of what will be an eventual tsunami.

From Great Resignation to Forced Resignation: Tech companies are shifting to layoffs

"Thousands of layoffs in the tech sector, compounded by hiring freezes and a slowdown in hiring, highlight the abrupt shift in fortunes over the past several months as a result of rampant inflation, fear of stagflation and recession, supply-chain interruptions, the war in Ukraine, an ailing stock market and other red-alert economic factors."

All of the tech companies hitting the brakes on hiring

"Over the last few months, a number of technology companies and venture capital–backed firms have announced plans to either freeze hiring, rescind accepted offers, or lay off employees."

Evidently, you are a little fuzzy with the word "all."

Due to slower growth, higher labor costs and less demand.

When people cut back it's usually discretionary spending first and brand substitution.

SDET. Basically I wrote automated software that tests software. Ive taken a break as my 5 year cancer odds are not what I would prefer. And because the chemotherapy made it harder for me to process the large amounts of data I needed to be able to do to do my job. Seems to be improving slowly.

I'm probably going to play around in VR for a bit, especially if my survival odds were to improve, but who knows.

????????????

That "demand" is going to slow down as the country lurches deeper into the recession, which will be a big one. This is a gargantuan mess that is far, far bigger than your average recession.

People are already starting to come out of retirement, as they are finding that their nest eggs are in jeopardy of being looted and have changed plans.

This will be the biggest economic disaster since the Great Depression.

Yes yes, says everyone every single year without end.

Eventually you will even be right! And that one time will validate you for all the times folks were wrong over and over.
