Those are kids not raised right, or not raised at all...but let's just blame guns.

We've always had guns, but mass shootings have been on the uptick since Columbine.

Who'd of thought that a more secular, more "progressive" world where religion is out, the nuclear family is despised to payback the "patriarchy", and where people don't believe in an ultimate sense of right and wrong bc there is no god.... Would lead to a rise in homicide & mass killings?

If it feels good, do it! If you're angry enough, release it any way you want! There won't be an ultimate punishment for it when you die anyway, and "right' and "wrong" are merely relative concepts... right Progressives?

70% of black children are born out of wedlock.

That is a MASSIVE problem.

A problem is that what Fathers have traditionally taught.....may not be applicable across the board anymore, even if it is simple as, "If the girl says no to a date, keep asking her.".

How do we decide what we need, what works now?

Don't forget about a generational shift in parenting and youth culture. More and more we see kids that are disengaged from family and community. In America we are trending away from teenagers working and driving, discouraged from "free-ranging" as children resulting in more isolation at home and time spent in the immersive violence-glorifying world of gaming. One of the most concise analyses that I've seen on this subject focused on the lack of a sense of obligation to the community on the part of these sociopathic child murderers. With obligation comes things like knowing people around you on a personal and professional basis, seeing them as people to whom you owe things like manners, assistance, terms of employment like punctuality, respect and service. You cannot fail to see people in your community as human beings when you have these bonds of obligation with them. These isolated and disengaged "raised-by-wolves" kids lose those connections. That's the cultural and psychological medium in which the more extreme damage cases turn into mass murderers.

Lot easier to blame the gun than the community that raised them. No community ever said after a mass shooting that its our fault, we knew the kid needed help and we turned our backs. We didnt care about their education, health care, mentoring, home environment, etc. Communities don't care.

Buckle up, people, because the SCOTUS is about to overturn Roe, and that will do nothing but exacerbate the current crisis. It's certainly not going to make things any better. I look for the decision to be announced on a Friday, either tomorrow or next week. That will ensure that any protests happen over the weekend and keep federal workers out of the fray that will no doubt follow.

That's too bad. If someone doesn't want to be a parent, then that decision should be made before they have a child. Once the child is born, it is too late. It is time to make sacrifices in life. That is what parenting requires.

Again, forcing people to remain in an unhappy, abusive, volatile marriage does not result in positive outcomes for anyone. Divorce already causes financial issues, especially for women and children.
If it can be proven that it is an abusive relationship, then divorce can be allowed. But otherwise, the parents need to stay together for the sake of the children. No fault divorce has to be done away with. Life is not about "choices." Life is about sacrifices. There has to be a change in mentality.

It's easy for the privileged to romanticize making sacrifices.

There are a lot of mothers at fault also. Turning their kids over to Grandma to care for their kids isn't helping either. Neither is having more kids than you can care for yourself!

Now we're criticizing grandparents who care for their grandchildren? My dad's father died when he was an infant. My grandmother moved in with her mother and started working full time to support the three of them because she was left with nothing after paying all of my grandfather's medical bills. My g-grandmother and my grandmother's sister basically raised my dad from the time he was one until he was old enough to attend high school. That's how loving families work when someone finds themselves in a bad spot. They support one another. This whole idea that parents must do it on their own is complete bull****.
