Do the couples doing IVF have to pay for their insurance or have deductibles? Probably. And being offered with insurance isn’t the same as the above and beyond company policy that says they’ll pay for travel and abortion expenses for their employees or their families.

I wonder how many people are going to claim they need an abortion for a free trip to California.

My company takes advantage of me partly because they know I have no kids so therefore I never have to leave early to catch a little league game or take a kid to the doctors or go meet the school principal for a disciplinary reason. I'm more reliable because I don't worry about kids.
Everyone is focusing on the companies but not one peep about the calls from politicians to set aside abortion centers on federal lands? I know it won’t happen but it’s absolute bonkers to even suggest it.

They weren’t saying it should be on tribal lands. Someone on City-Data said that. The politicians want to either create federal lands in red states to house abortion centers or put them in parks I guess. I find it offensive to advance federally taxpayer funded land for abortions.

It is not unusual for HC insurance to assist with travel expenses if the required specialists or procedures are not locally available.

It’s ghoulish.

Most medium and large companies provide health insurance to their workers and spouses. Maternity care is covered. Some give parental leave for a new baby or adoption.

Do you work for a company that doesn't give these benefits?

I know but the way they make it sound like this would not be insurance. I don’t care what private companies do but I have an issue with the idea of abortion sanctuaries that we would have to pay for.

Just stop. I know companies offer insurance and some offer paid maternity leave.

I did look it up and they are talking about additional coverage or letting people pay using their Health Savings Accounts. As I said, I don’t care what private companies do.

Oh the irony in this question. The United States Federal Government actually set up abortion clinics on the reservations, and the main purpose was to actually cause a genocide. When a woman would come in to get an abortion, they would also unknowingly become sterilized.

Native Americans are still ticked when they realized what the government was doing, so I can't imagine them being okay with this stuff to come again.

It does not have to be part of the Indian Health Service. They could decide to build a facility, owned by the tribe, to provide abortion services. All profits would go to the tribe.
