Here is a great thread on Twitter from a former Federal prosecutor about the likelihood of this ending up with Trump being criminally charged. He also addresses the classified/not classified issue and talks a bit about SOP in similar situations.

Seems the only one stamping their feet and throwing a temper tantrum is you. Do you think when any POTUS or anyone else in the government who uses a standing order means that they are inventing laws? wow. the left is truly going down in flames.
A trump lawyer wrote a letter to DOJ attesting no classified materials were at mar a lago. That was not true and that lawyer is looking at serious criminal charges
Or maybe the wheels of justice are turning the way we all should want them to—carefully and with extreme attention to detail. Let’s be grateful for that!
I've always had the greatest respect for those that serve in the FBI and in our other federal investigative agencies, have several of them in my extended family. 99% of the civil servants in those organizations take their oath to the Constitution very seriously. Regardless of who they are investigating.

Show us the standing order that says any document Trump brings to the residence is automatically declassified. We'll wait.
Newsweek reports that the documents found at Trump's home contained payroll listings of US spies. Speculation surrounds the list and a $2 billion deal with Saudi Arabia and Kushner that raised eyebrows earlier this year.
Note the "communications in any form" that is mentioned on page 4.
What is surprising to me is that in the attachments, there is no mention of electronic devices, storage devices or computers. Having had these documents in his possession for 18 months, Trump or his assistants would have had ample time to scan/digitize all of it.
It makes you wonder if they have already obtained it, since the odds of Trump having the smarts to encrypt such data are pretty slim.

I’m taking this with a HUGE grain of salt. Newsweek, ‘nuff said. (Not that I don’t think the Kushner deal stinks to high heaven, mind you.)
A fact that’s being conveniently ignored by the Trump defenders.
The 3 laws cited in the warrant do not require the documents to be classified to be a crime.
The documents were the property of the United States Government. Just keeping the documents is a violation. If Trump destroyed or altered documents, that’s a more serious crime. The question of classified material is another issue.
Those wanting to bring Hillary into it:
1) The issue with Hillary was with e-mails, some that were classified after the fact, not original documents.
2) Trump is potentially chargeable under the Presidential Records Act, which obviously doesn’t apply to Hillary.
