Honestly, the confusion presented by the person mentioned in the OP classifies as delusional, psychotic, not in line with reality. It’s not just confusing, it’s concerning.
The young person described in the OP is not confused about her gender. She is using mixed pronouns to draw attention to patriarchy. That's not a delusion; it's a crusade.

But that makes no sense at all. There is some genuine mental illness going on.

She's angry about patriarchy. She's chosen mixed pronouns to highlight her objection to patriarchy. It's kind of like wearing a button. You remember those, right? We pinned them all over our backpacks when we were young as a way of making a social or political statement. This is not an example of mental illness.
So, there is someone who goes by she/his pronouns. No, that is not a typo. She/his.
She wants to highlight the patriarchy by having male pronouns for ownership/possessive pronouns, because leftist victimhood.
Based on the preferred pronouns of this individual, this is a legit sentence:
She wants to take his car so she can impress his boyfriend.
All 4 pronouns are referring to the same person.
How is this sane?
We have now moved from forcing people to agree with a false reality based on someone else's false self-perception to having to use pronoun words based on political beliefs.
Some even use pronouns based on pretending to be different species or mythological beings.
Leftists stop the destruction of reality, please.
The NY Times lists over 100 different neo pronouns.
"Pronouns are words that a person may use to identify themselves instead of their name. For example, she/her/hers and he/him/his are typically feminine and masculine pronouns."
"Neopronouns are a category of new (neo) pronouns that are increasingly used in place of “she,” “he,” or “they” when referring to a person." Neopronouns are most often "used by transgender, non-binary, and/or gender nonconforming people."

What patriarchy?
How is her life impacted RIGHT NOW by "patriarchy"?
It is mental illness. Serious mental illness. Changing her pronouns .... does WHAT?
Nothing... except make her look like a raving lunatic. Mission accomplished.

Okay…at a minimum, she’s been fed some real garbage and doesn’t understand grammar? Idk. It does not make any sense, however you want to spin it. Object to “the patriarchy” by using male pronouns. Seems more like a way to make fun of leftists but alrighty then.

These are the buttons that I pinned on my backpack when I was young, not ones that signified an identity crisis.
Shouldn't transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming Americans be allowed to use pronouns that do not offend, insult and upset them?
They can use whatever pronouns they want. But so can I. And I will use the pronouns that correspond with the biological sex of the person to whom I am referring.
That, right there, is some good advice to anyone thinking about entering into any kind of relationship.
